For anyone thinking it will be some large adventure, it is not, however I feel that this can be turned into one if they decide to make a sequel, or something that expands on this concept. There is just not enough "Battle spinning top" games around that I've seen so far, and this has been one of the fun ones. In a nutshell, a good short and sweet game that can be enjoyed for what it is. A one shot adventure game with some wacky modifiers.

When the Slayblade demo dropped, I was convinced that this would be one of the greatest games of all time. It certainly had the energy about it: a unique style, a revolutionary control system, and everything that a Beyblade fan could want out of the core gameplay loop. Plus, it was launching at the peak of Beyblade X's popularity. Slayblade is heavily inspired by two things: DS-era gaming, which is hands down one of the peaks of the industry, and Beyblade. The art style is HD-2D, the music is incredibly fitting and catchy, but the gameplay is where it shines. Gone are the hidden-RNG battles of the core BB series, or the weird control schemes. In Slayblade, you control your top, but not directly, and your build matters. It feels great to play, especially if you're already a Beyblade fan. I sunk a lot of hours in the demo, not just on my PC or account. It was a real hit among my playgroup, and I literally could not wait for the full release. I checked back time and again to see if the game had an official launch date, and soon enough: it did. I kept a tab open to watch that countdown slowly hit 0, and when the time came I bought Slayblade instantly. I couldn't wait to leave work so I could play. And this isn't something I get to experience often. Before I move on, I want to tell you about what I expected. Honestly, I don't know why I had expectations to begin with - maybe conditioning from traditional gaming, maybe high hopes - but I had those, and was quite fond of them. I imagined what I saw of the demo to simply be an intro town. I thought I'd have to battle through numerous locations, cities and championships, reconsidering my build time and again, depending on the "local meta". I thought I'd see more gimmicks, more ways to get parts, side-quests such as fighting off Slayblade criminals. And, of course, given that illegal battles exist, I thought that I'd fall off the championship and have to start over on the "dark side". I didn't want more depth: I wanted variety, and a basic story that would take me on an adventure. Sadly, the reality of it is that what I saw in the demo was pretty much everything. I beat the game in half an hour on my second run. Once I understood that debuffing your opponent pays off more than buffing myself (which is crazy, but I won't comment on that) and that money matters more than EXP, I beat the game's first mode on my first try too. I'm eager to check the rest out, since there's plenty, but they are basically just combinations of modifiers that don't change how the game looks or feels - just complications to a formula that's already good enough to stand on its own two feet. Don't get me wrong: what's here is still pretty golden. The art style is peak, the core gameplay remains as fun as ever, even if I know how to break the game now (in numerous ways). I just really wish there was more to it, more reason to play. I'd rather have paid $15-20 and had that, than $5 for what amounts to an extended demo. Dev, I don't know if you read these. Some of the folks here are too harsh, and I hope I don't come off as that. I was just honestly hopeful for something more grand, because I rarely get as hyped for a new game. You have pure gold on your hands, and we're all ready to throw more money at you if you make a sequel or expansion. I honestly hope that you at least consider rebalancing this game, and taking that core to make something more grand. Start a crowdfunding campaign if you have to, but I suggest you do it. To anyone considering the purchase: play the demo, and if you like it, buy the game so you can support the dev. Even as a neat little art project, it's still very cool. And hopefully, this would inspire the dev to consider what I've said above. I, personally, do not regret buying this game. I have no right to be disappointed. But I have every right to be hopeful.

for 5 Dollars, you really cant complain, idk why there is any negative reviews for this considering how much replayablity there is and how cheap it is. Its fun for short sessions. Im sure more content will be added in forms of updates or DLC. Solid little roguelite beyblade battler.

It's a fun and easy to grab and play type of games. You can just start the game and immediately play it. Having a fun mechanic and nice and cute graphics. Also the game kinda forgiving like it will give you some spare changes when you about to go broke, it's nice Crumpet.
