This game is everything I’ve ever wanted in a snowboarding game. Has pretty much every feature I think should be include. But please can the devs make Zen mode where you can just get up and ski again after crashing instead of sending you back to spawn? Zens not ranked anyways it wouldn’t hurt to let players pick up where they fell.
Just what I was in the mood for. I'm glad I found this game. Very chill, yet can be addictive. The art style is nice to look at, the lighting is great (sunset is beautiful), and the feel is fantastic and flows very well. It's intuitive to play and practically no loading times. Even wiping out, face first into a tree, is not so bad because you'll be back on your feet in a couple seconds. There are several game modes, but no real story/campaign mode. No other racers on the course, just you and the mountain. (There is a leaderboard. Broke into the top 100 on the weekly! Yes, I was overly excited when I did that.) There's no real course, for that matter. Just go in any direction; it's all downhill. There are trees and rocks waiting to smash you up any way you go. But there are always lines through, and plenty of things to jump off of and over to perform those trick combos that will become so important to nail for some reason. I could wish that there was a proper mountain editor, where you could set tree type and density, time of day, slope steepness, obstacle type, etc. And to be able to share those mountains with other players. But I know that would be a ton of work. Yes, it's fun. Yes, it's worth the 11 or 12 dollars. Put on a nice long playlist and go zone out and peacefully carve your way down the hill, or go nutballs and try for an incredibly long combo chain only to lose it all hitting a dumb little hill that came out of absolutely nowhere.
If it's on sale, just buy it. Stop thinking about it. Pull the trigger. Very zen, very chill, very easy to start up and play for 10 mins or 120 mins. SNO invokes similar freeride trappings to ShredSauce mixed with Steep, and the endless variation in maps makes it super fun to play. Most of the maps are beautiful and the mechanics with a controller are excellent. I cannot say enough good things about this game. Many hours of joy await.
Such a fun game, so zen, so chill. It takes the best parts of games like steep, and riders republic (zoning out and doing nothing of significance), and amplifies it extremely well. The SFX are so immersive.. Combine it with booting up one of your music playlists in the background, and you're pretty much set to zone-out in an almost comatose state. With its procedural generation, and good challenge to achievements, It gives you enough of an excuse to keep playing - Alongside randomly generated character skin unlocks, which is really cool. It's hella fun, and a steal for the sale price!
