Fun tower defense. Some of the achievements seem to be bugged. If that doesn't bother you, it's a fun 10 hour 100% with quite a bit of replayability!

It is a fun little game. I have not hit the problem where it feels like there is only one planned way to finish the missions, so it is entertaining and allows experimentation.

For a game under 1 USD (discounted), this is a great achievement and a wonderful piece of work. Well balanced strategy, difficulty and comedy. I'll definitely play it until it's finished. This one is a winner for me :-)

A blast from the past from the era of good tower defense games. Space Run is 10 years old by now but it still holds up fairly well, both in gameplay and visual presentation. In Space Run you play as Buck Mann, a space pilot that ships cargo to various space stations for his clients. Your job is to make sure that the cargo gets to its destination safe and fast. On your way you have to deal with asteroids and pirates. This game features very unique gameplay. Instead of enemies moving through a maze, here they just come in from various directions and target your ship directly. Your ship is made up of many hexagon tiles and each one has it's own HP which means it can be destroyed. You can place new modules on any tile, this costs some hexnuts (the currency of this game) and takes some time to build but is necessary to deal with the threats. There are a multitude of different modules, ranging from lasers and rockets to shoot down enemies to shields, which protect your ship and various utility modules like engines and energy generators. These modules can still be destroyed but they have more HP than the hexagon tile underneath. All the modules need to be placed in specific ways to work, which turns the entire gameplay in a sort of inventory puzzle in which you have to figure out the best way to slot all your modules to get through a level. This goes for cargo too which has to be placed directly on your ship before you start a level. As you progress through the game, you get reputation and credits. Reputation unlocks new modules for you to buy which you can spend your credits on. All modules also have three different upgrades, tha you can purchase, these usually unlock new active or passive abilities. For an example, you can unlock the ability to rotate laser turrets, even after placement and later you can make it fire extremely fast for a short duration These upgrades are important to win the arms race with the pirates, which get stronger over the course of the game. Most enemies are designed in the same way as you are, ships with multiple hexagon tiles and modules that you can shoot down. Each tile gives you money for destroying them. You can even find civil ships, which you can and should shoot down for extra income. Alternativly you can deactivate your engines for a short income in hexnuts but this will cost you time. And time is important here, your clients expect you to be fast, each extra engine on your ship will boost your travel speed and only this way you can achieve five stars for your performance. Extra stars multiply the credits you get and getting them for the first time also gives you reputation. You can repeat older levels for extra money if you are stuck in a level, which is helpful if you lack a necessary upgrade yet. The game pace is however very fast and hectic, especially once multiple waves come in at the same time. Since there are so many active abilities that you need to time right, it's easy to lose your head and losing a single module can result in a failure snowball in which you lose one module after another because you now have a hole in your defenses. This can be frustrating but the levels are usually very short (5-10 minutes at max), so it's never too bad. The game could use some elements for convenience like a pause function that let's you still give orders, so you have more time to buy multiple modules at once or activate your abilities. The game could also use something like a sandbox to test out new modules before starting a level to understand if they are worth getting them. But that being said, the game is super fun to play even if it's one of the harder TD games I've played. I love the gameplay and how intuitive the controls are and I love the banter and quips that you get from Buck and his android sidekick. It gives the game much more character.
