Spirit Island is such a great game, I bought it three times - on Steam, on Android, and physically. The digital version does have some quirks. Sometimes, you have to do things in an unintuitive order. Sometimes, you don't get a choice when you should have one (though that's mostly with new content and usually gets fixed reasonably soon). The animation of the main menu... could be faster. Or skippable. Still, it's a good way to play a "quick" game of SI, or get a feel for how a spirit you haven't used before plays before you commit to it in a live game with friends and/or family. I do recommend the physical version when it's an option. Personal preference aside, house rules are a thing, and can be really useful for adjusting the difficulty, or even making the spirits play more thematically. My friends and I have a community draw rule whenever several spirits draw from the same deck in the same phase, for example.

I am a Chinese player, and this digital board game is absolutely fantastic. I have purchased all the content for both the PC and iOS versions! Could you please add an option for Chinese language after all the DLC updates? This is really important to us. This board game already has a Chinese localization by a Chinese agent, which can serve as a reference. Thank you so much for creating such an interesting digital board game. It's like a love letter, making it unforgettable for me.

So you're saying I can play a game I already enjoyed, but I don't have to worry about accidentally forgetting to do something and setup is a minute instead of 30? Well worth. Eagerly awaiting a bigger Jagged Earth sale and Nature Incarnate to come out!

I play only on steam deck, and own the physical version of spirit island so I know the basic rules before I played this game. First off as a game spirit island is a 10/10 co-oop boardgame. If you haven't played ot and this is your only way is say give it a go. For playing on steam deck it's alright, the controls are intuitive enough and the game is still great. Some things are annoying like zooming in and out, and the text size when choosing a minor power being too small and low pixel to read. There is some clunkyness when using actions and with the animations that probably could be streamlined more, like having all explorers get summoned in one animation rather than 1 at a time or no animations. I also wish there was a more notable soundtrack, the sound effects and music are just ok but I'm used to playing stratagy games like civ with beautiful soundtracks, but i also understand the size and scope of these developers is very different. I feel like this game while being true to a board game could have been better as an adaptation rather than 1 to 1 copy. Like this game uses the original spirit board to convey information, which are double sided in real life, and need to be flipped over in game to see all the info. It's wierd, they could easily either show both sides of the board at once or just have a much more clear ui menu that shows all the info clearly made for a digital screen and scrap the boards all together. It's the same thing with the cards, yes the board game uses cards but they could have maybe made a more interactive ui for powers than just the game cards. Like I get the intention is to keep it same as the board game but the only drawbacks to this version are the clunkyness caused by the design of this intention. Overall though it's spirit island on digital, its quick to set up and play digitally, and it works well enough on steamdeck that I can see myself putting a lot of hours into this game. And again spirit island by itself is just worth playing. So I do reccomend it.
