There are still a few problems with optimization, crashes, environmental bugs but in time, I'm sure it will become a stable game. It's a beautiful game with a good story. Just needs a few more patches. Edit: After a 100% completion, I stand by my words. Still one of my favorite environmental story telling games

It's taken me exactly 33 hours of game time to decide how I feel about this game... and I still don't really know what to say. I'm so 50/50 about it. Well, probably closer to 60/40, which is why I'm happy enough to give a positive review instead of a negative one. If you've played the first game you know more or less what to expect. You're a pretty magical fox that can dash about and turn into a spirit and solve puzzles to unlock new areas. Except this time, it's open world! ... *Too* open world. But I'll get to that in a second. It's a simple story with no narrator. If you like foxes and running around as a fox (that you can customise!), you'll love it. Easy as that. The puzzles are fun, finding the furs to change the fox's appearance is also really fun. I love stuff like that. It kept me happy for the majority of my time spent. ... But why, oh why, is the map as large as it is?! The game starts on Fox Island and there's foxes everywhere, it's lovely. As soon as the story starts proper you're thrown into a giant, empty world. Literally empty. You and your bird companion are the only animals you'll see until you encounter the guardians. I spent the majority of my 33 hours so far running. And running. And more running. My game encountered a critical error and crashed 4 times. Luckily, thanks to a lovely auto-save system, nothing of value was ever lost. You won't ever have to worry about losing progress (unless you die and cannot access your grave which *almost* happened to me twice). Whoever did the music for the main menu screen? Why. Oh my poor ears. Such a high pitched screeching noise :( I love listening to game music and sounds as I play but I found myself turning the volume down each time I loaded the game just to avoid that god awful sound. I also noticed that the writers aren't sure how to spell the name of their own antagonist. Is it Grimmir or Grimnir? Because the lore scrolls you collect indicate that it's... both. Which was a little confusing. I had nothing but positive things to say about the first game and I was very much excited to play this one, and it's still a fun game! I'm looking forward to Saturdays to have a hunt for the Light Weaver now (which I only found out existed due to the Discord server, but alas, it's a fun little addition) but I cannot overlook all the little issues that stood out that sadly means I don't favour this game as much as I did the first one. I genuinely believe this game could have really benefited from not being so open world. And despite everything I have to say, I did spend 30+ hours in a game I paid £12 for, and I would definitely say I got my money's worth. For that price it's definitely worth a shot. TL;DR: Fox running simulator in a very empty world but the puzzles and collectables make it feel kinda worth it.

Did you know the fox sounds in this game were recorded from real foxes at Save a Fox Rescue? If you love foxes, please consider supporting them. They recently lost their founder Mikayla Raines, and now more than ever they need your help. Even a small donation can make a big difference in a fox's life! You can learn more about Save a Fox and donate [url=https://www.saveafox.org/donate]here. The game is very beautiful and peaceful. It has lots of puzzles, activities, fox customization, and the story is very immersive. I definitely recommend this game.

Lots of well designed puzzles to solve and unique little findings and surprises to encounter. 10/10 would get eaten by Gerald again🐳

I’m not usually a fan of open worlds but this one is something special. Decades ago I spent weeks if not months looking for the 17th Colossus in SotC and never sense had a game made me feel that since of wonder and exploration until this one. The music, the lore, the gameplay itself are all made by people who very obviously love what they put into this game. It’s a must try, a must buy, and I honestly can not recommend it highly enough . Already one of my go to games
