its a good time wasting game. if youre looking for something engaging, probably not the move. but its a fun "me go mine, me get resources, me sell recources. me do again" type game

This actually ended up being a really pleasant surprise all the way around. The sound track is pretty decent and the game is also fully voice acted, so it is already better than a modern Pokemon game.

MM was a fun little digging game that while it didn’t do anything out of the ordinary, it was a good time and it knew when to stop. SMM is a sequel that tries to be bigger and better. It succeeds in most areas but it introduces new problems that mostly affect the pacing. Just to put things in perspective: the original game took me a little over 9 hours to go through all the content and get all the achievements. The sequel took me over 22 hours to get all the achievements but there are still 7 maps that I didn’t bother to explore. Why? Because the gameplay and maps remain exactly the same after map 1 with all the planets (3 planets in the base game). The only change you’ll notice later is being able to dig deeper and get new resources, the latter also stops after clearing map 3 of all the planets. I would have preferred if we didn’t get maps 4+, kept it at 3 for every planet and found a few more ways to make the 3 maps fresh and original compared to one another. I am at least grateful that all the achievements can be gotten with map 3 of every planet and the story also concludes in map 3 of Islandora planet. Other flaws are the dialogues and finding power sources. The dialogues are mostly similar in style compared to the first game. It becomes more of a problem here because you get more of them the further you get, they can drag on for too long and they’re not that great either. At least you can skip them. As for finding a power source, it was annoying having to find them first. What I ended up doing is putting cables to follow me all the time after finding one power source, that way I made sure I could always build anything when needed. I don’t think what I did is intentional but it worked better that way. Having enough resources to build power sources should be enough because you still need to search for mines and managing a heater, radar, pump etc. is enough too. Everything else is a big improvement. The game looks better, the music is more distinct/fun, there are tons of QoL improvements, better progression of your mech & passive skills, gameplay feels better, there is voice acting which is nice, I really like that we have 3 planets with distinct themes instead of 1, I liked the story overall etc. You can tell how the developer tried to make a better game, he gave it his all. And yes, I feel that SMM is a better game despite some of the flaws mentioned. The normal price of €4 is great for what you’re getting. I recommend getting SMM if you like those type of games. You can also try the demo which has save and achievement transfer. Let’s all pretend the game ends after map 3 with all planets and it will be better for it. Next up is the game’s DLC, I’m already playing it and I will leave a review once it’s done.

Doing a stressful job, I just need a drink and this game. I generally LOVE mining games. In this game you can't die which is super. It has some grind but not in stressful way. Achievements can be completed easily and if you want you can keep on playing to 100% the game. I haven't played the DLC yet but surely it's on my plans. ---{ Graphics }--- ☐ You forget what reality is ☐ Beautiful β˜‘ Good ☐ Decent ☐ Bad ☐ Donβ€˜t look too long at it ☐ MS-DOS ---{ Gameplay }--- ☐ Very good β˜‘ Good ☐ It's just gameplay ☐ Mehh ☐ Watch paint dry instead ☐ Just don't ---{ Audio }--- ☐ Eargasm ☐ Very good ☐ Good ☐ Not too bad ☐ Bad β˜‘ I'm deaf ---{ Audience }--- β˜‘ Kids β˜‘ Teens β˜‘ Adults β˜‘ Grandma ---{ PC Requirements }--- ☐ Check if you can run paint β˜‘ Potato ☐ Decent ☐ Fast ☐ Rich boi ☐ Ask NASA if they have a spare computer ---{ Difficulty }--- ☐ Just press 'W' β˜‘ Easy ☐ Easy to learn / Hard to master ☐ Significant brain usage ☐ Difficult ☐ Dark Souls ---{ Grind }--- ☐ Nothing to grind ☐ Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks ☐ Isn't necessary to progress β˜‘ Average grind level ☐ Too much grind ☐ You'll need a second life for grinding ---{ Story }--- ☐ No Story ☐ Some lore ☐ Average ☐ Good β˜‘ Lovely ☐ It'll replace your life ---{ Game Time }--- β˜‘ Long enough for a cup of coffee ☐ Short ☐ Average ☐ Long ☐ To infinity and beyond ---{ Price }--- ☐ It's free! β˜‘ Worth the price ☐ If it's on sale ☐ If u have some spare money left ☐ Not recommended ☐ You could also just burn your money ---{ Bugs }--- β˜‘ Never heard of ☐ Minor bugs ☐ Can get annoying ☐ ARK: Survival Evolved ☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs ---{ ? / 10 }--- ☐ 1 ☐ 2 ☐ 3 ☐ 4 ☐ 5 ☐ 6 ☐ 7 ☐ 8 β˜‘ 9 ☐ 10 ---{ Author }--- β˜‘ https://vojtastruhar.github.io/steam-review-template

First time playing a game like this. No enemies or danger and the same mining game loop repeating. I found it a relaxing time sink and that's what I was looking for. Played solo and only on my Deck.
