This was just was I was looking for. I signed in and immediately was drawn in by all the cute graphics and missions, building, and crafting to accomplish. I've been spending 6 hours plus a day on it and time is flying and it is bringing me relaxing and happiness.

I played the free demo before getting this game. My husband and I liked it. We felt that it had a lot of potential and we hoped that we could see this game become more. When we got the full version we had no idea just how much was already in the game. In the demo you are kept to a small island. In the full version you are able to go to another island nearby. AND THEN THERE IS THE MAIN LAND. It was like a tutorial part two. We didn't really feel like we knew the game until we got past the second island. Once we were on the mainland we found that there was more to unlock through game play. The Halloween event distracted us from it for a while and now I'm looking forward to the Christmas event that's next. I hope they add more events and areas to explore. I also hope they increase and add to this game with all the cute little puns and stories. If you play the demo and feel like there isn't enough, I promise there is a lot more in the full game.

This game really flew under my radar for HOW LONG?! It's so fun! Kind of like a cross between Animal Crossing and Legend of Zelda. Seamless multiplayer that my fiance and I have been having a blast with. Exploration, combat, cosmetic dress up, gathering, crafting, quests. This game ticks all the good boxes. Controls are pretty tight, gameplay is solid, and I love the feeling of discovering new things in the open world. Nothing but good things to say about this so far. Do yourself a favor and try it out.

Definitely recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a good mix of life-based things (like building a house) and combat. This game is a lot bigger than it initially lets on and that's only in Early Access! There are so many things to do and to discover. Many, maaaany Easter Eggs and hidden quests to find. There are multiple difficulty stages which I love as it makes the experience that more customisable. The whole team behind the game is also extremely responsive to bugs/issues and listen to feedback which is lovely. Definitely think the bigger the game gets, the more awesome it will become

TL;DR A great blend between a cozy game and rpg that will keep you busy well over your money's worth from a developer commuted to a quality game play and actively involved in their community (both in game as well as out of game but more on that later). The demo is more of a "try the feel" first rather than being representative of the full content/gameplay. First off, the Devs allowed a demo which I find to be incredibly responsible and forthcoming. Kindred and Janna are both very active in the community and I highly encourage everyone to join the discord both for added value as well as frequent and clear communication from them! Now, has the game been in EA a long time and is this typically a red flag? Absolutely, however, in the case of Swords n' Magic and Stuff the development process as well as roadblocks are very clearly laid out and make sense. This isn't a AAA studio but they are committed to a quality gameplay experience that you really just don't find these days. The game really isn't as buggy as some are suggesting and mostly mount to minor inconveniences. I myself am a rather pernicious player and like to test the boundaries of a game and have found relatively few bugs/glitches and none that have severely impeded gameplay. As far as content goes there is a healthy amount of content that will keep you busy for a significant amount of time. Many may not catch on that there is a ton of hidden content as questlines with multiple outcomes if you're simply following objective markers. You are rewarded for paying attention to dialogue and clues as well as exploring and taking your time in quests and world. As long as you're making reasonable expectations of the length of content (don't play into the hundreds of hours or rush through quests and be surprised n you run out of content) you're going to get quite frankly way more than your money's worth. The game is very reasonably priced especially when taking into account the demo. That being said the demo DOES NOT do the game justice and I really feel is more of a test for how the game "feels" while playing it rather than representative of the content. The game features a combat/leveling system that is primarily gear based on your weapons. Clothing/armor is cosmetic and you'll have to get used to each classes unique requirements. The game does not (currently) have pvp and unsure if planned. For myself there is a ton of customization in the game and some items even chain into hidden content! I love collecting and building and there are countless options for doing so. You can easily just spend your time farming and dawdling about if you want. As a final shameless callout. I recently found out the developers work at youth camps for the younger generations interested in video game development. That is purely amazing and I think is worth mentioning.
