I have 13 hours on record and yeah, thats about how much gameplay you will get here. It's really fun until very late game and you run out of things to do. If they come out with DLC, I would buy it. But for you, dear reader, wait until it is on sale.

This is my favourite tower defense game. It takes only 7 hours to beat, unless you lose to the boss on day 50 in which case you have to keep going up to day 100, when you beat him it unlocks an infinite war mode for that save. Though it has quite a few different towers you'll eventually realize there's BiS towers and units with incredible power gaps compared to their weaker counterparts. (ex. most rebel units are useless but if you get a full circle of rocket launcher troops they can snipe tanks across the map). So even though the best towers and upgrade path lead you through a predetermined build it's still fun to do so and even playing the same way I occasionally launch this game so I can play a run. Would recommend, just wish there was better end game content beyond unlimited days after beating the boss.

So, as most of us are already aware and has been blatantly said in the comments, this is abandonware for sure. Regardless, I still think that the game in its current state is fun to play. HOWEVER -> GET INFANTRY BUILDINGS AND RELATED UPGRADES FOR YOUR LITTLE GUYS FIRST. Then span into the other trees. I (somehow) made it through 30 days of an absolute slog-fest with no infantry and it was hell for the last 10 days while I slowly was defeated over and over again. I am on my second playthrough and now I am back where I was (day-wise) from my first playthrough and it has been SO much easier to manage/play which has made it considerably more enjoyable. Especially the Skyfall mode. That was basically an auto-lose for me because I couldn't deal with all the infantry. It's still challenging, but it keeps the game playable with the strange difficulty scaling. This game has an interesting learning curve, but for those that are willing to get the hang of it for a few hours, you'll find that you can have quite a lot of fun. Though, some updates... that would be pretty chill. Never gonna happen tho LMAO.

this is a really, and i mean REALLY, good game. It's not easy at all, but is still fun, and its genuinely so good. A shame it doesn't get updates / probably is abandoned and isn't popular at all, but I really like this game. It's real fun, I'd say it's worth a shot -- though im not sure its worth the $25 price tag. when its on sale though, i think its pretty decent

I just finished the game for the first time, after about 8 hours on normal difficulty. Overall I recommend it, but for like 10$, not 20. It is a lot of fun early and quickly falls off. I am gonna keep playing it for a while, but more for joke playthroughs where I try to use only one turret type. There is no real replayability because in one playthrough you see everything there is. The game is a lot of fun for the first 1-2 hours. The presentation with effects and sound is great. Exposions are big and flashy, the 3D terrain means you really gotta take aim to hit enemies that move behind rock or trees and you get lots of upgrades with new units and weapons for your main tower. But this quickly fades after those 2 hours. Enemy waves become so big, that it doesn't matter so much what kinda turrets you have just that you have enough. The flashy explosions become the norm and the moment an enemy wave spawns all their units disappear behind a cloud of artillery explosions. Pretty cool the first couple times. Not so much after 4 hours. The main turret (basically you on the battlefield) becomes more and more inconsequential except a few abilities, like regenerating shields. In the beginng it is more powerful than the turrets and your shots matter a lot. But as the smaller automatic turrets become more and more in number, your main turret falls far behind in DPS. And the qualitative upgrades, like new turrets or new abilites last for 3-4 hours of gameplay, then you are down to mostly quantitative stuff like more dmg, more shots, more this and that. Same with enemy variations. Early on getting new enemies is interesting because you need to adjust your style and get new upgrades so for example you can counter tanks instead of infantry. But after a while the variation is over and you just get more of the same. This is the biggest negative about the game. Eventually it becomes a numbers game and you don't win with skill, you win with having more numbers than the enemy and you can basically start a battle and then idly sit there to wait for the end. Do that often enough and congrats, you won the game.
