Let me start by saying that this is now one of my all-time favorite games I've every played. Let me break it down. The Gameplay: The game starts off slow and builds as time progresses. The game takes roughly 15 hours to complete and believe me, when it starts to build, you will NOT want to quit. You're an innkeeper, you keep an ever evolving journal with profiles of your regulars (and their info that gets added over time), some rumors that you combine to create quests that get picked up by your regulars, a list of the quests themselves, a map, and your drink recipes with some information about the drinks and the ingredients and infusions used to make them. The magical drinks you craft determines the outcome of the quests that you create for your patrons. The game has multiple endings and they're achieved by the percentage of outcomes you obtained from the quests throughout the game. At no point do you EVER leave your tavern. This is not an exploration game. Your regulars do all of that for you and when they tell you their stories, you'll feel like you were there. Not to mention, they'll bring you back trinkets and ingredients when they do make it back. Characters: Over the course of the game, you meet over 20 characters. Some are even based on real people. The characters are DnD inspired, but even if you've never played, you'll be okay. The characters are unique, colorful, interesting and very lovable. Some even took me by surprise. They're also animated in some of the cutest/coolest ways, some possess familiars, and they build deep/meaningful relationships with the other characters. Most of the time your regulars will order their usual drinks, but I promise, you'll be making every drink in the game and you'll enjoy doing it. Oh! and the music changes based on the characters that are around! Story: The story GREATLY surprised me. I'm usually very good at guessing endings, but at no time did I know what was going to happen. The quests were interesting to hear about and the overall story was pieced together perfectly and left me feeling so many emotions. LGBTQ+: Not sure why this tag is on this game? The game has no mention of sexuality or gender and doesn't feature any dating. There are pronouns listed on your regulars profiles in your journal, but none of the characters actually ever say what their pronouns are. I'm an ally for sure, but I will say, it was nice that the game was more focused on diverse characters and story than hyping up a specific community. The Vibe: Cozy, suspenseful (but not overwhelmingly), surprising at times, very casual, fun, and just a tad funny. Price: Very much worth it in my opinion. I will also be replaying it for the achievements, watching my partner play it, buying the DLC, and buying their next game (already wishlisted). I'd make a pros and cons list, but it'd be useless because I genuinely had no cons. There were zero gameplay issues and I liked that the game can be saved at any point too btw, very thoughtful. Thank you for reading and thank you to the devs for such a wonderful game <3

I enjoyed playing tavern talk. It is very much Coffee talk inspired, and unfortunately doesnt quite get to its level. The story itself is good, beautiful entertaining. the characetrs grow before your eyes and with your help, however the gameplay itself lacks creativity. Each recipe is given to you, there is no search for the right ingredient, or personal creation, the way it is in Coffee talk. the amount of potions is limited, you cant create anything new. After a few hours this makes the game boring and repetitive. Although your choices do affect the story, it is only by chosing one of two options given to you. I wouldnt say the game was bad, i enjoyed playing it from begining to finish. I only feel that it could have been a lot better, when compared to similar visual novels.

I decided to play this game after playing Coffee Talk, like many others I would imagine. The drink-mixing mechanic is straigth forward, people just tell u what they want instead of u having to guess, which is a bit of a shame, cus I always enjoyed that little aspect but it's not a dealbreaker to me. In regards to the story, I actually prefer this over Coffee Talk, with how vast the cast of colourfull characters is, how often you get to see different interactions between characters and how the game actually feels more like a real place with not all the people visiting your tavern beeing regulars after the first few hours of the game. Sure the maincast still makes up for most of them, but there is enough ambiguity in regards who may or may not actually turn into the maincast that it keeps things fresh and exciting! The story is also surprisingly long, I expected this game to last me roughly half as long as it did. So yeah, lookin forward to the sequel! Prequel? The next game!

Prepare for your heart to be ripped out... then lovingly taped back together again in the best way possible. Tavern Talk is an immensely story rich and character driven tale that will leave you wanting more even after you finish the game. It was a lot long than I was expecting, but that's not a bad thing at all. I got very attached to the all the characters and felt invested in each of their stories and how they all tied into the overarching plot. I don't ever write review for games, but I saw a few on this one that said it was too much reading or the overall plot wasn't good. I could not disagree more. If you love story rich games where your choices matter and they make you laugh out loud and cry, this is the game for you.

Such a lovely and cozy game! I 100% recommend it if you’re looking for something to just relax with after a chaotic day at work, especially if you’re not in the mood for combat or puzzles. The only real dilemma I had was picking the best dialogue option. The characters are so charmingI really started to get fond of some of them. :) It’s also just really lovely being an innkeeper, calmly making drinks for the regulars and getting to know them more over time. It’s the perfect vibe for unwinding. The best part for me is that it’s longer than Coffee Talk. It was nice to have more time to get to know the characters and experience their stories
