It's got some jank here and there but the game is definitely playable. Gameplay loop is going into a large level where you have the main mission, a specific side mission, and plenty of unmarked quests that yield tangible rewards proportionate to the effort involved. I never feel like I have to stretch myself thin trying to find the answer to any of the puzzles since the context is pretty easy to follow + you can buy hints outside of the missions. Well worth the price if you enjoy games like hitman or fallout 3.

The Greatest Penguin Heist of All Time takes the idea of a cooperative robbery game and replaces professional criminals with waddling penguins, unpredictable physics, ridiculous weapons, and an almost complete disregard for seriousness. Developed and published by That Fish and That Other Fish, it is built around the idea that a successful heist does not necessarily have to be elegant. Sometimes escaping with the objective after destroying half the location, knocking over your teammates, and improvising a solution at the last second is just as satisfying as executing a carefully planned robbery. Each heist gives players an objective and a location to infiltrate, but the journey between entering the map and escaping is intentionally flexible. Stealth is possible, allowing a patient group to avoid unnecessary confrontations and carefully work around guards. Going loud is equally valid. Guns, explosives, environmental objects, gadgets, and unusual equipment can turn a quiet operation into complete mayhem within seconds. The game rarely feels interested in forcing one correct solution, making experimentation one of its greatest strengths. A large arsenal contributes heavily to that freedom. More than 100 weapons and items can be discovered and used, including conventional firearms alongside explosives, drones, food, and deliberately absurd equipment. Different loadouts can dramatically change the personality of a mission. One attempt might involve cautiously distracting enemies and sneaking toward the objective, while another can become an aggressive assault where practically everything that can be knocked over, thrown, broken, or exploded becomes part of the plan. Physics are central to both the gameplay and comedy. Movement and interactions have an intentionally loose quality appropriate for a game about penguins attempting elaborate crimes. Objects can behave unexpectedly, carefully arranged plans can collapse, and interactions between several players can produce situations that feel completely unscripted. This unpredictability can occasionally work against the player when precise movement is required, so anyone expecting exceptionally tight tactical controls may need some adjustment. However, the awkwardness generally complements the game's playful identity rather than feeling disconnected from it. There is a substantial amount to do beyond a handful of robberies. The game features 20 heists alongside more than 100 quests and various activities spread throughout its environments. Objectives can involve stealing valuables, fish, artwork, and other increasingly strange targets. Exploring and completing additional tasks can unlock more equipment, which feeds directly back into the sandbox. New tools create new strategies, giving players a good reason to revisit missions rather than treating each completed robbery as finished forever. Cooperative multiplayer is where the concept becomes especially entertaining. Up to eight players can participate online, creating enough room for both organized teamwork and spectacular incompetence. A coordinated group can assign responsibilities, prepare specialized loadouts, and attempt a surprisingly sophisticated operation. A less disciplined team can spend half the mission interfering with one another before somehow completing the objective anyway. Friendly interactions and silly objects further encourage players to create their own comedy rather than relying entirely on scripted jokes. The experience also includes diversions outside the standard heist structure, including activities involving pizza making, zombie survival, and competitive play. Daily challenges add another reason to return, while a large collection of cosmetic clothing and skins provides plenty of opportunities to customize each penguin. The Greatest Penguin Heist of All Time ultimately works because there is a surprisingly capable sandbox underneath its intentionally ridiculous premise. The humor attracts attention, but the freedom to approach objectives differently, experiment with a huge collection of equipment, unlock new possibilities, explore varied missions, and cooperate with several friends gives the experience lasting appeal. Its deliberately unruly physics will not satisfy players looking for a highly precise stealth simulator, but they are responsible for many of its funniest and most memorable moments. It is at its best when a brilliant plan goes completely wrong and everyone decides to continue anyway. Rating: 8/10

goty every year no but like seriously, this game is really good. It's pretty stupid and silly and whatnot, and the levels are way too big for the heists that are supposed to be the point of the game, but penguin heist is peak ok, it just is.
