I don't know what it is about this game, there's no fancy graphics or anything, but I keep coming back to it every once in a while. However, playing as a Republican is lackluster, they have no actual policies to implement besides "lower taxes" and "ban abortion". Also no third parties yet. 4/5 stars. HIGHLY recommend.
I love this game, have done for years, but there is one major system missing. We cannot negotiate with individual NPC'S to secure votes. Right now, passing legislation feels too broad and percentage based, in reality politics is about convincing specific people. A great addition would be the ability to spend political power points on individual NPC'S for example - click on an NPC to negotiate - if they are aligned to your caucus or have traits that allow them to be managed, it presents what you can negotiate. - outcomes are influenced by their traits or what their platform to be elected was. - options like trading commitee positions, cabinet positions, or supporting legislation they are working on in return for yours. this would add a huge layer of strategy and realism, and turning votes into actual political management instead of vibes just based on numbers.
