Maybe not the best strategy game out there, but I loved it as a child, as a teenager and now as a grown up. The History Edition features 3 main games each with its own campaign and side stories. I've played all 3 campaigns 3 times and each side story map at least 4–5 times. I also downloaded maps created by the German community to have even more content. It is very simple, and some might say repetitive, but to me, it was and still is my favorite strategy game. I will never get bored of it and I often come back just to replay some maps. 6 - Stars game

This game is responsible for getting me into strategy and city builder/management games when I was just a child. It is in my opinion the best one out of The Settlers' franchise. I still have the CD but I'm glad to find it here with all the expansions. I can only recommend this often-forgotten gem. It's a shame you need Ubisoft's launcher as well but it is what it is.

The best version of the Settlers by far. Missions, side missions, quests, campaigns and excellent solo campaigns. Great story lines. Seems like The Settlers subsequent new version releases seriously began devolving from this point.

Enjoyable classic strategy game with an immersive atmosphere, memorable heroes with interesting unique abilities, and a lot of retro charm. The base campaign is a lot of fun and the Legends expansion, while less polished, has some creative mission designs that add variety to the experience. The one major flaw is that there's no way to pause the game without modifying the code (which I do not have the skills to do), which makes it tough to take breaks, so be sure to go to the bathroom and grab your snacks before you hit play.

Used to play this as a kid. Very nostalgic to play it again. Hearing the voicelines and sounds and seeing the 3D models and textures is an amazing blast from the past. "How am I supposed to concentrate when you are tickling me?"
