Dec. 2025
People do not recommend this solely because of Chapter 5 because of how disappointing it is. However from my standpoint of this game, it is certainly worth the 11 USD. A visual novel like this quality is absolutely insane for its price. I'll address the issues of the game(mainly ch. 5) with my own opinions and add few other things about the game. 1. Art - There's a lot of mentions about the quality of art, especially the "AI" art misconception. From further researching, I conclude there is no AI art. If there was and it was major, I would've crapped on this game like the rest of the reviews. More artists were hired for ch. 5 and as an artist, it is hard to maintain that level of style consistency especially with multiple people. With a small art team working on it for 2.5 years, I guarantee you that they did not have the time of their lives. Occasionally there were weird looking panels and yeah, it looks off because a common way for artists to draw is to have 3d models as reference and paint over it. However, the art did not fail to amaze me. There are certainly noteworthy pieces of art. 2. Endings - The endings were abysmal. I won't defend this aspect with my heart. You would've guessed on what I'm going to say from reading other reviews. Like 80% of the endings were basically filler endings. Some were, like they say, "fan" theories put into the main game and the rest were literal "You Died" endings. In my experience, there were 3 genuine endings that felt like the whole story of Tiny Bunny. However, the impression to get these better endings were not good. One of my first three ending was so horrendous that it became humorous. It was when the mc turned into a lovecraftian cosmic god and literally ate the universe . There are like TWO endings when literally the power of Christ saves you, and it's not even a spoiler because it is so irrelevant to the theme of the game. MVP of the game goes to Grandma in chapter 1 for having zero screentime but somehow changing the direction of the story. The genuine endings? yeah they're great and fit the story well and the art is unbelievably gorgeous. However, they're literally locked behind specific steps so new players will have zero chance of getting it for their first playthrough. New players will most likely get the 15 other endings where the mc gets speedblitzed with just one wrong choice. Nerf the Owl in the game, it is too OP! I wish that the endings weren't as bad as they sound but they just are. A way to fix this is to make an impression on the player with their first ending. They need to have a normal, easy to get ending that most players can get on their first try so that they wouldn't be slapped in the face with a huge "FUCK YOU" and be discouraged to play the game. 3. Soundtrack - There are some good things about the OST but together with the poopy endings, it doesn't fit well. There is a certain soundtrack, one that I ABSOLUTELY loathe, that was so shitty and incessant for the vibe of the game. The song's name is Taai Liira from Dvar and it was played in one of the endings nonstop but also in one of the most dramatic scene of the main endings. 4. Story - I don't have much of a say because I bought the game when it first had chapter 1 and was too lazy to go through 1-4 again but I think the storywriter forgot a bunch of build up in those previous chapters and tried to push everything on chapter 5 which just creates more confusion. I mean, it's not incoherent but there's a lot of implications and conclusions to be made. 5. Voice Acting - There's a lot of amazing voice acting in Chapter 5, they definitely put their effort in this. In conclusion, despite all of the cons of this game, I still think its good. The play time is maybe about 4 hours if you're a quick reader. Another 4-8 hours trying to read the other branch endings and 100% the game. The quality of the art is one of the best. For 11 USD you're literally getting an art gallery full of illustrations for dirt cheap. Commissioned art can go for $50 for a single work of art. This game is 100+ pages of said commissions. Support these guys. They did their best without charging you heavily. Plus, they say they're going to revise the story a bit and make it fit their original style. If they fulfill their promise, then it genuinely shows that they love this game.

Episodes 1-4 were absolute masterpieces the soundtrack alone made me ascend. However episode 5 was kind of a letdown, felt very rushed and the atmosphere disappeared. The choices i made basically didn't matter because it almost always led to the same thing. I don't know what happened to the development team in this episode but its clearly not in the same tier as the previous ones. Shame because i was really looking forward to how the game ends. I would give episodes 1-4 an absolute 20/10 but this last one just wasn't it 3/10 :(

One of my favorite games, and the best visual novel horror game out there in my opinion. It’s incredibly creative and filled with choices that make you think and bond with characters. I absolutely love its story. I think i just genuinely love slavic culture and games in general. I got so absorbed in its story that i played it multiple times. The feeling of the game, set in the snowy Siberian forests during winter, is so well done that the black and white art style somehow makes it even more mesmerizing. The voice acting is also great. Even though i played the game in my own language, i really enjoyed listening the Russian dialogues. My expectations for chapter 5 are high. Underrated and my comfort game. 10/10.

It's a little late, I want to express my support to the authors, not only because the composer is an as##ole, but also because this is a very cool game.
