Yes, this game is advertised as a very hyperactive arcade game. COME BACK HERE. Yes, YOU. Look at me. LOOK AT ME. This game has a mode for realistic movement speeds. You can swap ammo types. There is thermal vision. There are smoke curtains. There are missiles. It's easier to aim with the internal gunner view, but you also have pilot view and chase cam view (which I use for spotting targets, before switching to gunner view). The position of the chase camera is configurable. There is a mode to enable component damage. The minimap is optional. IFF highlighting is optional. You can choose a realistic rendering style or an anime rendering style. Powerups are optional. You are not restricted to WW2 tanks, which have become so much of a recurring trope at this point that I am thoroughly sick of them. New tanks are unlocked by ranking up, and this can all be done in singleplayer, if you'd rather. Are you tired of how infuriatingly-online, competition-obsessed, and monetized World of Tanks is? Do you want to hop in a match against the computer (with or without a few friends) and just launch massive rounds into heavy armor? Sure, this game is still an arcade game under the plating. If you're looking for something else, then be honest with yourself: You're looking for ARMA 3. World of Tanks is just as arcade-y. If World of Tanks repels you for any number of reasons, and all the other armored combat games are too WW2-themed for your liking, then you are looking for Toyko Warfare Turbo. I passed by this game a few years ago. I shouldn't have. I was a fool. Are you on Linux? This game is built with the Unity3D engine. Boom; it's not just a Windows game. Run it on Linux with minimal hassle. Proton makes it seamless.

This is one of those games that you would see in a manga where the loner guy protag is like 50,000 hours in and then gets reincarnated into it. Instead of having fun thought he'd be having a panic attack cause he's guaranteed to die. I love the tacticool feeling of the hud and UI, and the arcade style fast tank driving makes me really wish there were a stunt map where I could rocket boost off a ramp. Aiming feels meh, like trying to hold an egg suspended between two sponges. Love that the exit game button is called "Return to Reality". Fast reload might not be the most rational upgrade, being able to shoot 50 rounds in 2 seconds is not something that a tank should be able to do, but it is so much fun. Voicelines are great (anime version, didnt bother trying other one.) As far as sub 5$ summer sale games go, This has been my favorite so far, by far.

This is basic but fun. I just wanted to drive around and shoot stuff in a tank without having to go online. The physics are fun and give it that really arcade-like tank combat. The progression system is also strange and lacks some polish. It's hard for me to tell what constitutes a rank up. The aiming and driving is a little wonky but i guess anybody can get used to it.
