climb tha tower Id say I have well over 300 hours, finally decided to buy the game on steam because its just that good of a game and imo is well worth the 15 dollars. This isn't really a "review" more just me rambling, if you want a review go look at Tobash's, or watch that one YouTube vid Sir Doshington made that just kinda goes over what the game is TowerClimb is one of those games that have an ungodly amount of "problems" to it, but none of them are big enough to actually impact the game for the worse and imo they actually add to the games general vibe. Its rare to find a game that's bold enough to front-load its worst content, the first half is boring and a bit generic compared to the second half but I think that just adds to some of that charm? Like its not "unplayable" or anything its still fun, but the area theming/music choice/gimmicks are just way less creative. You probably wont "Beat" the game or even see that fancy stuff that makes the game so special in the first 10, maybe 20 hours because you'll be too busy fumbling with the games wonky control scheme which tbh I don't know how they landed on it but after a bit you'll get used to it which honestly is like every other game with a unique control scheme so I cant really fault it for that. The music is good but that doesn't really mean anything because literally every indie game with a soundtrack that isn't ambient noise is good, correct me on that if i'm wrong, still though there're some BANGERS in there. Despite the game being the way it is everything just feels fair and just? I've rarely died in a way that felt like BS, more just me skill issue'ing, panicking, or failing to understand an interaction unlike in most other roguelikes where you get a bad item in the first room and immediately know that run is a dud. Afaik there're rarely if any game breaking bugs that can kill a run and there's only been 1 patch like a month or so after the game released, while most people consider that a bad thing HONESTLY I'd say its pretty neat they managed to get the game (mostly) right in their first go rather than like most games where a decade later they're still having to patch out extremely obvious interactions, or alternatively the devs deciding that a feature was actually a bug and getting rid of it. towerclimb is cool, it never goes on sale, id recommend playing it for a bit through a LEGALLY ACQUIRED COPY before deciding whether or not you actually want to buy it because its extremely not for everyone. game's good

This game is unforgiving. This game is catastrophically, fundamentally difficult. This game is life-ruining, and yet one cannot halt the desire to climb. One must and will climb. Perseverance is key, for the further one progresses, the more bounties the game presents. It can get unhealthily (destructively even) addicting, so please be mindful of your mental and physical health. You are likely to feel an entire array of emotions throughout your journey, sometimes within a short time span. It can be despair, mania, panic, euphoria, relief, tension, fear, doom, dizziness, greed, contentment, rage, bloodlust, bloodlust, bloodlust, bloodlust, bloodlust.

To be submissive is to be still! Oh High and Mighty Tower! Our true devotion never moves. The Tower is Tall! The Tower is Tall! Those who move are heretics. The hand of God will slay. In the green all will be seen. Move not. Pray night and day.

It's very good and only gets better the further you get. Use inverted run to spare your feeble hands.
