I recommend this game, but seriously, ♥♥♥♥ this game. If you fancy yourself a side scrolling action savant, then this is a fun game. Really nails that dark, futuristic fantasy sci fi vibe. It's a great action game but the difficulty is over the top in places. Most of the bosses are tough but reasonable until the last boss. Like so many games before it, you have to beat 3 different versions and it's just ridiculous. Hard to commit to the time sink to do it. Still... really fun game. The sequel is easier to recommend because it retains the same fun gameplay but not nearly so hard.
fun game, while i did die a lot it wasn't anything too crazy, took a bit more 4 hours to finish the entire game and im pretty average in platforms, i don't really get the complaints of it being too hard, maybe they didn't bother changing weapons? i used controller so i can't comment on the keyboard controls
This is a rare "barely recommended" for me. It is a good game, with lots of potential but it falls short in a couple places. First the positives: - Excellent art, unique style, much needed metal theme - Of course amazing soundtrack Where it can improve: - the character movement while shooting is frustrating, I can't control Therion well, it doesn't feel powerful as the theme is screaming it should. - the game loop is a little underwhelming, it's just complete section, move forward. This could be improved with more freedom to explore, which would require other changes but the loop is too simple That said, anyone that likes metal will enjoy this, anyone that wants a nice action game with cool art will enjoy this as well.
