Absolutely brilliant. Plays all known vr formats with or without vr helmet with lots of control options. Got it to play gopro formats all other players cannot play this one no problem.

Great software for watching movies. Has lots of cool enviroments to choose from including some that allow background lighting to match the movie or TV shows. UI is still quite complicated and devided at the moment although hoping for improvements to this in the future. Dev seems to be active and still working on this app so with this app on PC is my favorite for watching my own movies (including 3D movies) and Fluid app for watching movies via Plex. Both are good for different reasons. Would recommend to pick this up as to me this is the best PC app for watching your own movies. I would however recommend after installation to download and install LAV filters codecs to have everything work well. The default VLC codec does not work the best for me (video is very jerky like low frames) but the other codecs work great once the new codecs are installed.

This program works great, it plays both steroscopic and monoscopic panoramic video, also allowing you to select what type of view the video is stored in (horizontal, vertical, etc. with a number of different personalization features for your viewing comfort, such as distance to playback and the curvature of non-VR media (you can bend the panel around you it's cool!) I have not used Whirligig super recently, but it is the only program I need to view VR Videos! I don't anticipate needing a different program unless Whirligig somehow becomes unavailable, which at the moment seems quite unlikely.

I'll give this a thumbs up with a caveat. It works OK. I like it. But the damn beta feature of that huge circle menu pops up even when beta options are turned off. It's silly because I'm trying to do something and the huge wheel menu attaches to my hand and blocks everything. I don't see the point anyways since it's not like I can't do everything from the main menu already. the biggest problem though is that the beta feature switch is broke itself so it's always on. Turn that thing off. It's annoying and the reason I hardly every use the program.

this is one of the mostly 90% working VR video viewer that works in linux out of the box with 0 extra tinkering vs any other apps.
