Yihongyuan is a nonlinear Visual Novel with some Hidden Object elements. During the game you will have the opportunity to court 6 different female escorts, learn of their interests, pasts, and how they became involved in the sex industry. You must flirt with them by beating them at dice, investigating their rooms for interests, and eventually match poetry based on their preference. While certainly interesting on the investigative side, the game doesn't take this element far enough for courting each girl. Their storylines don't last long enough to really feel like they've been plotted out. There are familial ties to several girls with the madam of the house that don't get explained much. If each girl had their own respective mini game, instead of just dice throwing, I feel their personalities could have been much more explored, but maybe I'm missing the point of the game as an H-game rather than a storied-VN. I did really enjoy the poetry matching section and thought it matched well with the girls testing the main character's studies as that's directly why he is in the city in the first place. Overall this is a good game with beautiful character art and well made backgrounds for each of the characters. I was so happy to see each girl had their own detailed room as opposed to reused assets. While the patch isn't really necessary it is well made and offers good interactive scenes. Other players seemed to mention some issues with resolution, frame rate, or item response. It looks like this has been fixed as of March 3, 2023 with a bug fix. I will say that some objects require near pixel-perfect clicking to consider being collected during the investigation sections; but if you're having trouble you can pause and the timer will also pause or simply replay that respective section from the girl's plot menu. Yihongyuan game features 19 Steam Achievements for those completionists like me. It also has Cloud features and is Steam Deck verified. Playtime is a little over 2 hours, but probably could be completed in half that time or less. Honestly, I would have preferred more story to sexy time for this title, plus some more variety in the mini-games, but this is a good game for your VN collection. Cheers.
