I just finished this and honestly, more people should check it out. The art style is absolutely beautiful, like a living painting, and it fits the tone of the story perfectly. It follows two very different characters during World War I: a young Canadian photographer (voiced by Elijah Wood) and a German engineer, both caught in a war they don’t want to be part of. Their stories are told with care, and the way they slowly come together is really well done. I also loved the use of both English and German voices, it adds a nice layer of authenticity. Even the animals in the story bring something meaningful, adding lightness without taking away from the emotional weight. Gameplay is pretty simple... mostly exploring, solving light puzzles, and progressing through the story. Think Life is Strange but without dialogue choices. It's more about the experience than the mechanics. Some moments might feel a bit slow or sentimental depending on what you're into, but the emotional core, the music, and the visuals really made it stand out for me. It’s a heartfelt, thoughtful take on a subject most war games ignore, and if you enjoy story-driven games, this one’s absolutely worth playing.

The story was absolutely fantastic and I could not stop playing this game. I played it all in one day and I loved every second of it. I felt the characters were well made and developed nicely. Story was well done. My only issue was that there were collectibles in the game that I missed because sometimes with the artistic style it made it hard to see.

the stylistic choice of how this game narrate its story as well as the artstyle made this quite an experience. the story could be a little bit slow but it's beautiful and painful story about two different people become friends in war. although the ending gave me a heartbreak (depending on choice i guess). i love the bit at the bird and the cat and how they symbolizes both two sides of war and the animal that decided to accompany them. its a neat little detail for me would i recommend this? if you like to listen to story of people at war then i guess its a worth of try. but this is a short game so i suggest to wait for sale. also fair warning, the artstyle of this game might hurt your eye a bit if you have a sensitive eye. this is a great addition to a lot of story telling games out there and i wish a couple of people specially those who like military shooter atlease see this game once in their life

dude i was not expecting to like this game as much as i did. for everyone curious about the game, it plays smoothly (on a Chromebook btw😆) the controls weren't great by default but they were very easy to change i certainly recommend this game for anyone who's into wartime type content it is a tad emotional though, especially depending on the choices you make

This is an all-round beautiful and artistically sophisticated game in the setting of World War I. 11-11: Memories Retold consists of a variety of well-composed, deeply emotional scenes, underpinned by gorgeous painterly graphics. The art style is the star of the show here. Just looking at a random screenshot taken from the game feels like entering a different world through a piece of art. You can stop at any given moment in the game and I guarantee that wherever you are, the scene will look like an oil painting. The usage of thick strokes, color and light is phenomenal and creates a very unique vibe that looks unlike any other game I've played. 11-11 is not only a beautiful game to look at but also knows how to grab the player with its writing. In the course of the game, you will perceive the events of World War I through the eyes of 2 people who are affected by the war in different ways. What I appreciated here was the fact that not only one specific view of the events of the war is given; it's not your typical "good vs. bad" depiction of this conflict that would betray a very shallow understanding of the socio-political situation that led to this disastrous tragedy. Instead, the horrors and the trauma that this war brought are conveyed through human perspectives on both sides of the frontline. If you enjoy games like Ubisoft's Valiant Hearts and you want to learn more about the final stage of the first world war while immersing yourself in stunningly beautiful environments, you should give this game a try. Be warned that some of the events and characters depicted here are truly tragic and may break you emotionally more than once. Unfortunately, this is the nature of war. This makes the game all the more important though as 11-11: Memories Retold is a true lesson in humanity.
