This game is a masterpiece of competitive over-engineering, however, the move-validation engine is single-threaded. If a match goes on too long and you spawn too many parallel universes, the engine hits a wall and permanently freezes. To put it into perspective, my last match soft-locked under the sheer weight of its own math. Let me explain: Timelines (T) = 13 active parallel universes Pieces (P) = 16 average pieces left per board Moves (M) = 3 average physical moves per piece Depth (D) = 8 past turns available to target Every piece can move normally on its own board. 13 Timelines × 16 Pieces × 3 Moves Total: 624 physical moves. Every piece can also jump to another timeline or travel into the past. 13 Timelines × 16 Pieces × 13 Target Boards × 8 Past Turns Total: 21,632 time-travel moves. Adding normal moves and time-travel moves together: 624 + 21,632 = 22,256 total valid directions on this turn. The engine has to look ahead to ensure your move won't accidentally put your past self in checkmate. 22,256 directions cubed (22,256³) Total Permutations: 11,019,101,620,224 (~11.02 Trillion) When a game forces a single CPU thread to calculate 11 trillion multi-dimensional permutations just to display your legal move dots, it simply runs out of memory. Highly recommended, but do yourself a favor: play with the "Losing Timelines Can Be Abandoned" setting turned ON, and cap your total timelines. 10/10
