Foreword When my journey started with Devcats I did not know I would be someone looking for masters for several stray cats in our neighbourhood. It's a task that can be tiresome and annoying (only the part where you deal with people) and also somewhat expensive (with your feline friends all neutered and vaccinated and ready to move on). Just before I purchased this game I had come back from the vet with two kittens who had been abandoned (and left at our doorstep) for... personal reasons. But I was successful in finding new owners for these little siblings and the last (confirming) communication regarding this came soon after completing this game. Coincidence? It may be so. But definitely a funny turn of events. Devcats There is an abundance of cat-based HOGs on Steam. Many try to stand out by picking a unique theme or location. What the guys at Devcats do is to include enough content for their games to be playable for several hours and not just for a few minutes or so. Additionally, apart from finding cats there are other puzzles involved. And overall the story-approach they have (with humans and cats alike conversing with you) just takes the cake. Sequel Episode 2 takes us back to a multistorey building. We are greeted in the hall and then have the opportunity to look for cats on five floors (each with two flats). Every apartment has a tenant giving us a special task apart from the usual. For instance, we can look for old video game cartridges, metal CD albums or lost keyboard buttons. Once this task is completed, we often have a follow-up puzzle (and sometimes this includes an additional location with even more cats to find). The idea of giving each tenant a different personality and theme is just fantastic. One tenant eats healthily and does regular exercise, another follows more of a meditative lifestyle and there is even a metalhead present. Although all of them give you three locations to explore (living room, bathroom and bedroom) their personality affects the colours (the overall theme) in these rooms and also the many easter eggs you find. I thought An Arcade Full of Cats had the most references but no, this game ups the ante. And no, these are not just video games. I also liked how there is a storm halfway during our game progress which means we have to go outside and collect the scared cats and also do some reparation. You will also appreciate the returning characters from other Devcats titles. Verdict This is a fantastic game with lots of content and way more detailed rooms than in its predecessor. Some of the locations can be a bit too hard on the eye (given how bright they can be); other than this, however, I found no issues with the game. Highly recommended!

I see a new DevCats game, I immediately buy the new DevCats game, I drop everything and play the new DevCats game, I then sit there sad and anxiously waiting to get my grubby little paws on the next DevCats game. More please? <3
