Only played one round and it seems fun so far. I appreciate how survivor games are usually released for $5, making them a no brainer to buy. But I do have some concerns about where this genre is heading: 1. The genre started with vampire survivors which was a 2D game that would let you fight giant horders of enemies, what I'm noticing is that more and more survivor games are now 3D games, which is fine. But it seems that they greatly reduce the size of hordes in the 3D survivor games to make sure the game still runs smooth. Basically the mobs are smaller, but they make the enemies more spongy, I don't like this trend. I liked the giant mobs in Vampire Survivors and Halls of Torment, where it covers the entire screen with enemies, where the real challenge would come from the amount of enemies on screen, not their healthbar. If this is not possible in a 3D game, then just create a 2D game. It’s about the gameplay after all, not the graphics. 2. The second trend I'm seeing is survivor games becoming more and more easy. You can usually beat the first stage on the first try now. The whole point of vampire survivors was: you felt underpowered as you start out and as you progress and upgrade your character base stats (throug the main menu, not during the round) you would slowely gain momentum over your enemies. Usually it would take atleast a couple of runs before you could win a round. When you build out your character, even vampire survivors and halls of torment can become easy, but it’s only AFTER you spend 10 hours upgrading your character base levels. Nowadays a lot of survivor games release, and you can beat the first stage without even upgrading your character base stats, making the game boring because where is the challenge or the feeling of slowly gaining momentum over mobs, when you can beat the stage on the first try. I guess this is done in order to not scare away new players, and so people can still feel rewarded winning a round after booting the game for the first time, but I feel like this basically ruins the entire concept of the genre, the whole point is to feel underpowered, and not be able to win. So you feel more reward when you do finally win a round after multiple tries (as you slowly make your character stronger each round). Just my 2 cents lol.

UPDATE : Love the game and the direction it's going. THANK YOU FOR ACHIEVEMENTS! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rG9mpJaVQck I think there's still work to do, but I love all the changes so far. I don't full agree with some of the negative comments, because I think some of them are assuming that all survivor-likes are aiming for the same experience, which shouldn't be true. For example, "it's boring". That may be true if you're expecting huge synergistic powers that obliterate everything. This isn't that atm. There are plenty of build options that you can wipe the screen with every second. The first 10 or so minutes of most runs are more skill based and maneuvering. That being said, I think there's improvements to make here, like: Miniboss and Boss Moves - There'll all too similar and don't provide much challenge. Please make their moves and powers much more dangerous and varied. Every boss you can just stand and pound with upgraded powers and win. Events - The ones here are mostly fine, but add more and make them more diverse. Temporary NPCs you save/fight with, mini-bosses tied only to certain events, more objective based events. We want more than the 2 chest events, basement, and portal. Kill Chest - Please change this so you just have to kill while standing in the ring, NOT kill enemies inside the ring. The problem here is you waste our time when doing a Kill Chest with an upgraded build. I wasted about 2 minutes of time trying to finish one because I was just killing all the enemies off screen and they'd never make it to the chest. Classes - Like them, but please make the stat differences more drastic. Pretty much everything in here now can be changed within an upgrade or 2. Make them so different you have to play them different. Also, do something about the Rogue. It's an unlocked class that has such a frustrating starting weapon it's the only one I bothered quitting a run with and never played again. The starting skill is extremely frustrating to try and hit enemies with. He's just not worth playing. Variables and Modifiers - Give us ways to modify and play differently. We want run modifiers. Add a faster run modifier (Hyper mode, faster clock and all stats and skills). Give us run modifiers to up difficulty for more rewards or achievements. Allow us to sacrifice things like extra weapons to do personal challenges like a 1 weapon challenge. Allow replacing a weapon with another when you get them if you want to. There's so much more that can be done here. Building - Love the added buildings and the Workshop. Give us more freedom and customization. Add upgrades to building for additional stone and gold. Allow us to replace buildings. Add in buildings that can be built anywhere in a pinch for added strategy. That's everything I can think of after the most recent March patch. Great work so far. More changes and this will be among the top survivor-likes.

Fun and addicting. Graphics and sound are good and it feels satisfying to play. The building mechanic is this entry's addition to the genre, and I've begun to like it quite a bit. There's some depth to utilizing them as there are benefits to playing around your buildings to have them assist you actively. However, you could also set them up and leave so that they survive forever, granting you their passive bonuses indefinitely as the enemies will only spawn near you. I've found a combination of the two strategies to be effective. I've also found many abilities to be powerful and satisfying with the right upgrades and transformations. Looking forward to seeing how the game continues to be developed.

Aside from some stability issues, it is decent over all, may need to cook a little longer, but so far really enjoyable, to bad no multiplayer, not to much to complain about for 5 buckaroos. Great game if you like survivor genre. (Edit - Feb/28/25) After the last 2 patches i can say that stability issues (improved FPS) are fixed for the most part, stutters only seem to happen when stuff is kinda nutz, so no real complaints. With directional attack on mouse and controller just added that was a huge improvement. Just needing and waiting for more content at this point, but this is a great start and unique enough for this genre. GJ guys keep up the good work! :3

Only completed two runs but wanted to get a review in for this pretty early to help with the exposure. I'm a huge fan of the genre and have around 20+ games in my library in this genre alone. It's a solid bullet heaven/Survivor-like game with some small twists to make it a bit different. I'll run down some of the key things the game brings: You can have up to 4 weapons per run. They can be upgraded each level, as well as increase stats each level. At lvl 5, 10 and 15 of the weapon they get big upgrades very similar to Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, with level 15 being the most dramatic change. Generic Meta upgrades. (Permanent upgrades from currency you collect, like Increased HP, Faster Movement etc) Quite a lot of Characters to unlock, which is where I see a bulk of the grind is aimed towards Lots of areas to unlock. Achievements in-game but not on steam sadly. Maybe one day? Mid-run events with rewards that you can only get from those events. Chests give you powerups like magnets or speed for X time, Basements give you rare passive upgrades, Rifts give you a free upgrade for a weapon. (Btw, you don't need to stand in the circle to complete rifts. Just activate it and run out, then kill things. You'll get bombarded by suicide monsters if you stay close. I lost my first run because of that.) Now what does it do different? It has a building system. It's nothing crazy. But you create mines (By standing in designated spots) and use those mines to gather stones. Said stones are used to build Traps and other helpful contraptions in other designated areas. They're also the way to build 'Forges' which is what is used to 'Tier up' your weapons at lvl 5, 10 and 15. They only become available when you're able to tier up a weapon. It's nothing game changing or anything, but it is kinda cool to get 3 Traps near each other in a triangle and just stand in the middle to watch everything die. Overall, if you're a fan of the genre you'll get a kick out of it. But I don't currently see it as being something I'll get sucked into for a long time like some others. Definitely worth the price tag for the content it currently has.
