Ad Fundum is a remake of the 2004-ish Flash Game Mother Load. It's a worthy remake, and definitely takes the gameplay concept in some new and interesting directions. However, Ad Fundum is buggy, especially if you're trying to play with a gamepad. (Don't get off the elevator too fast after an earthquake, or you'll softlock!) I've experienced a few crashes/lockups, which is unusual for a 2024 game. I still recommend the game, though. It's certainly worth it at a sub-$10 price point, and I had fun chasing the find-all-the-things achievement and the multiple ending paths.

Ad Fundum is everything that one would want a Motherload successor to be! This game basically does everything that Motherload does, only better - and with more of it. [*] Good story and characters. [*] Many levels to explore, each with their own twist. [*] Expansive upgrade system with upgrades for your mech, your base, and a bunch of discoverable upgrades with special effects. [*]Just about the right total game length, without rushing nor dragging at any point. Besides the expanded scope from the game it is so obviously heavily inspired from, what really brings it home for me is how the design of the whole experience revolves around fun. The game basically never gets frustrating - such as how the forced immersion-breaking puzzles of Super Motherload were a large negative in that regard. Also, pretty much all challenges that face you can be overcome by acquiring new upgrades, which leads to extremely satisfying gameplay and sense of progress. The earthquake mechanic had me worried when first presented, but with the reinforcement items that enable you to build unbreakable mineshafts, Ad Fundum turns the arguably worst part of Motherload into a good addition to the game instead! Altogether the whole experience was joyous from start to finish and I wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone looking for a fun and casual mining-game.

I bearly recomeded this game. The main problem is inprecise controls. I, often by mistake claim undesirable chunk because controls. Devs have to be more aware of this issue because every step counts. I accidentally remove more chunks than I want to. If you already learnig from other games, do it right! Controls are very clumsy and imprecise. New gamers be aware to be very frustaded because of this. Devs make controls lame! You have god game but everything falls if you neglate control over the game. Remember all Devs: Control over your design is more important than game its self.Think of commodore and amiga as an example......

A very true to form motherload like game with more content than the original diggy flash game and even a plot to boot. Highly recommend if youre looking for something to scratch that nostalgic itch, simple but theres also more here than youd think at first glance. Developer knew what to do and carried it out well. Highly recommended
