Very addicting. Many synergies possible from equipment, lots of good QOL features, a block puzzle for crafting equipment which adds extra variety, and most importantly the mining is very fun. I did the main content without ascensions, which I heard were grindy, but I plan to do eventually anyways. Still have tons of stuff undiscovered also. With this price you really can't go wrong.

A very enjoyable digging game with a satisfying progression curve for about 20 hours of gameplay, but it's held back by a ludicrously grindy post-game. It should take about 10 hours to dig down to 999, at which point if you choose to reset the world you'll probably have a build strong enough to get back there in under 15 minutes. It didn't take too many more attempts to get a set-up good enough to get the achievement for reaching it in under 5 minutes. Reaching the bottom of the world unlocks a new more difficult alternate world with 500 layers that has better materials with new upgrades and equippables to unlock. You're incentivized to do runs of both worlds multiple times for progressively stronger buffs, but each prestige tier of difficulty for the second area is such a massive stat-check that the grind to make your drill stronger becomes a chore. I got to tier 7 of 10 before I got tired of it, and in that time I had I barely made a dent in progressing towards one of the more egregious achievements. I may have been playing for dozens of additional hours if I wanted to get it, and the game doesn't have enough variety to make that grind bearable. The gameplay loop is still good enough to recommend the game, just don't go in planning to go for every achievement.

Good game that I lose track of time in. Definitely for those people who like to just... dig... down... just nothin' but diggin'. Making new drills is a fun and interesting way to vary up gameplay. It DOES get tedious and horrendous if you're not clearing the map.

I haven't gotten to level 1,000 yet, but I'm just noodling around, having fun. I wouldn't call this particularly challenging. Drive & drill around until you fill up your waste bag, then return. Rinse. Repeat. The design-a-drill mini-game is interesting, but not really my cup of tea. I tend to just cheese it and take whatever I get. I'm sure I could go faster if I cared to play that mini-game more. ...but for $4 USD, how can you go wrong? No controller support, but works fine on the Steam Deck using WASD/mouse.
