Really enjoyed this, it's a great foundation to build on. Some suggestions i would say are: * More exploration with less invisible walls, expand map 4-6 times current size. * Build boats and drive to other islands. * Bigger mines and less linear (big caves, using rope to go up or down, build ladders etc. * Improved aesthetics on ores and gems making them more glittering and shinier to appeal to the players achievement of finding them. * Introduce Quartz veins, Pyrite, Copper to locate rich gold deposits and add to the realism. * Silver could be added as a by product income. * Multiple new towns and businesses could be introduced to work in and eventually buy. * Add vibrant colour to items in menu (black and white is less appealing). * Sled and dogs driving needs improved steering. * Continue story with family, main quest line should be the heart of the game making it a deep and long adventure * Add improved mining machinery and vehicles for huge mines. * Reduce gold content from rocks, make it harder to locate veins which will add to the reward feeling of finding them. * Add trout fishing for food and money source. * Mine support wood could be changed from logs to beams that need to be processed in the sawmill and transported on a truck. * Short animations could be added when eating, drinking, skinning animals etc. * Expand on building mechanics and allow player to build bridges, log cabins and other structures. * Allow digging anywhere that could lead to caves or random veins. * Ai voices could be used for NPC's * Expand on the smelting process and add moulds to make different size bars/coins that you pour yourself from liquid. I will support this game and buy DLC's/expansions because it's a great effort!
So far this is a solid concept for a game but it needs a ton of work and polish. This game is nowhere close to finished. If the Developer continues to work on the game and does not abandon it or do any predatory monetization then it could be a solid game. Only time will tell. But as of right now you need to treat this as early access because its nowhere near finished.
Really good game with a few issues. If you like grinding for resources and crafting then this game is ideal for you, really satisfies the lizard brain loop. yeah it stutters every now and then, some of the trails are hard to follow, the husky sled is terrible but none of these issues are game breaking, they are annoyances for sure but for the price these things can easily be overlooked. Its getting updated regularly and they're working on DLC's so it's one to keep an eye on. Definitely replayable, I'm on my second walkthrough, some games cost 3x as much for the hours I've got out of it. Wait for a sale then pick it up, well worth the money.
I am super impressed by this game. I normally do not play sims, but this is multiple sims inside an RPG. From resource and human management to development of your own town, hunting among many other survival elements. Not to mention I had an issue with a glitch causing a quest item not to show up in my inventory. I asked the discord for help and the developer promptly responded and got me my item back. Overall great game and great company.
