I wasn't too sure about this game, my interest started out pretty high and then wavered a bit. I took a month to pick it back up, but it really got to me by the end. I cried, a lot. It's good. Play it if it seems at all interesting to you.

I really love the characters and the story is cool and I thought the puzzles were pretty fun! Definitely played it more for the story though. I also thought the worldbuilding was pretty interesting, especially on the history front. It was a bit shorter than I was expecting after the demo, but hey, 7 chapters isn't bad for the price (especially when it's on sale)! I finished it in just a few days (though I haven't gotten all the endings or anything), which should give you an idea how much I enjoyed it. Also made me cry a few times, and I got a fair number of laughs out of it.

First off, if you love the Dragon Age franchise you need to play this! I have no idea if the developers are DA fans themselves, but Arcadia Fallen captures a lot of what I love in DA games like great character dynamics. I love how Arcadia Fallen manage to create great character dynamics and you actually feel like the group is friends, despite it being a smaller indie game. Huge plus that it had party banter between the characters through the journey and showcased everyone's development, because yes the characters actually have character development. I also loved how you have multiple of options when you 'romance' someone, if you wanna be a shameless flirt or blushing bride you can totally do that! Felt like you actually had legit options to shape your own character and how you want to deal with situations, was very neat handled. I ended up loving all the characters, but Michael was a DELIGHT! Cannot recommend it enough and I can't wait for Arcadia Fallen 2!

i only just started the game at the time of this review, but so far im loving it!! the characters are all very lovable and the dynamics of the group is very unique. i LOVE the usage of tone tags for the dialogue choices cuz a lot of visual novels have options that SOUND one way, but then your character apparently means it a different way and a character gets mad at you, so it's nice to know exactly how others will perceive answers. art styles adorable and the character customization is cute. my only two issues with the game as of right now is the lack of tutorials (it IS pretty easy to figure out how to use the alchemy system and the color palette in the character creation screen, but you do have to flail around for a couple seconds) and how i cant be meaner to mime.... mime annoys me and considering the whole premise of the game is that we're "unwillingly bound to an illegal spirit", i feel like there should be more options to just reject their attempts for friendship lol
