There's a run of coop games based around communication, most of them to solve puzzles. This one's based around solving some basic driving. Just... drive out of this parking lot! Easy! Ha! No it isn't. You, if you're the driver, are too short to meaningfully see out the front window. So you're relying on somebody in the back seat to call out directions for you. Except the car is cursed. It doesn't exactly drive with precision. But you'll be called upon to do some really precise driving. So good luck! And worse, interior parts come off, and other parts go haywire. The heater has two modes: ignite and deep-freeze. The cassette player randomly flings cassettes at mach 1, and if some poor backseat driver catches one they're muted until somebody else yanks the cassette out. The steering wheel, gear shift, or even the pedals come off! Happily you can use the window cranks, a cane, a chocolate bar or something roughly the right shape instead. Or even a pizza. I had a pizza for a steering wheel. (Bad idea, you can't see through it, so it's even worse visibility than ever.) So the game's there to test your ability for players who can see, to direct the driver who can't, and that driver to react promptly and with precision. Except the car resists precision, finds it odious. So it's really an exercise in bumbling through extremely difficult obstacle courses, and in my case, affecting my best Raspy Old Man voice as I, as grampa, tried to drive. Worse, you will need to pull up very close to certain things, like ticket dispensers, which may take a few (or many) tries. In the span of my streamed ~2h playthrough with the delightful [url=https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198987909303]Eleanora , we managed to get through nearly three maps: a car lot (which also involved smashing through the front glass and barrelling through offices), downtown core (dodging mach 1 traffic, a public park, and then getting our car flooded with burgers at the fastfood drivethrough), and then through the subway (even having to buy a ticket). The world is bright, colourful, saturated. One of the cassettes has very peculiar music but I think it fit the mood (this game is gonna be an exercise in masochism for some), the characters have over-the-top talking animations. The backseat passengers are bug-eyed, in a state of eternal panic... which is appropriate. Gramps does not know where he's going. I saved the best part for last: Only the host needs a copy of this game. Guests can join for free. Which is, I admit, how I managed to convince somebody to join me on my public misadventure. So I mentioned that this was streamed, and that link's in my profile. There's a curator as well, which gets the rare occasional indie game to review. Putting some weight on those means stranger experiences for you to observe, and for me to write about. Win/win so far as I'm concerned, so do me a solid willya? I am no mere content creator, I am an artisan of bespoke experiences. Also handsome and modest. Much like gramps in this game. So! This is a fine time if you can find somebody willing to direct you, or if you'd rather just yell at them. And cheap for the price because others play free.
