This is a tough one. I'm giving it a thumbs-up because I, personally, value weird hard sci-fi in games to the point where I felt it was worth it to keep pushing through. The world here is very alien and unique, infused with a complicated and artful mix of emotions. The artwork is beautiful, and I credit the team behind it for their vision. Gameplay-wise, it was a slog. What I was supposed to do next almost never felt intuitive for me, and I ended up consulting a walkthrough for basically every move because I never had any clue where to go. Sometimes I appreciate when a game doesn't hold my hand, but the system here left me feeling totally lost. Then, when I would see the correct path in the walkthrough, it felt like... THAT'S what you expected of us??? So in the long run it was like a combination between a playable novel (which isn't to say it didn't have choices with real consequences—you are an active participant in forming the story) and formatting an Xcel spreadsheet. The novel was truly fantastic, but the mechanism for navigating it was rough.

Entertaining adventure game with a great setting. I loved the setting, characters, voice actors, and graphics/art. How you find items in the world is terrible and worse than the classic 'pixel hunt' because it seemed the proximity you needed to be to make an item 'appear' wasn't consistent. This led to me missing 2 necessary items even though I searched the screens they were on. Luckily the devs have a guide posted on Steam. That flaw aside, the game was still cool enough that I recommend it to adventure game fans.

A truly solid game, filled to the brim with creative ambition. The story imagines a sci fi world that is truly original, even weird for weirdness' sake (though that is right up my alley!) This game is a dialogue-heavy, puzzle-light adventure game that is well worth the asking price as a narrative experience.

In this isometric adventure (which to me feels like a walking simulator) you'll traverse post-apocalyptic Africa, encountering bizarre creatures, solving intricate puzzles, and making decisions that shape the fate of the world. It's like a scenic hike with a side of existential crisis - perfect for those who prefer their exploration with a hefty dose of narrative depth. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3286774544 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3282767634

Fantastic! One of, if not THE most unique and entertaining games I've played in a few years. Gorgeous end to end, excellent audio design, wonderful companions, and a new spin on traditional adventure mechanics. The closest game I could say it's related to is Planescape: Torment, and that is also intended as an extreme compliment. I'm not sure what the complaints are about the game loop, it's very traditional for adventure games to have you searching for items and trying combinations of things. I feel like the negative reviews aren't fair, due to the game explicitly stating it's genre. Have you guys never played an adventure game before? At no point have I ever felt stuck, or that I was going out of my way to search for things. There are clues in the story, and there are visual clues on the maps. Look for pulsing circles. I don't know if any of the screenshots or game-play videos can prepare you for just how engaging and fun this world is. I'm looking forward to everything The Brotherhood produces in the future now. Such a gem! The only thing I wished for was an alternative control scheme. I'd like to hold the mouse down and have my character follow the pointer, like Diablo. This is probably just me, as I have some joint pain from all the clicking. Edit: Just completed the game! I will gladly run another play-through of this in time. Absolute engrossing entertainment from start to finish. 9.5/10. Planescape: Torment meets District 9 in an adventure game package. Just phenomenal. Bravo.
