While I do like this game and it is a good continuation to BatIM, the game unfortunately feels like a 15 hour story compressed into 5 hours. Everything that happens kind of just immediately goes into the next like an awkward interim between cuts. Honestly, this game has many shortfalls of an indie title without many redeeming qualities.

It's an improvement from the first game, tho you could call it a "mainstream" game if that makes sense? The only weapon's The Gent Pipe, which has UPGRADES. One that is mandatory, which is fine, but there are also two optional. In Batim you had many weapons even if they were retextured. In Batdr there are also abilities. Banish which is just an execution from behind, and also a dash ability. The combat is better, tho not perfect. You regenerate health only by eating (There are lots of food dispensers), or by banishing, which is hard to do. The enemies are just lost ones (And Searchers but only in like one or two locations). The boss fights are fine. The Ink Demon mechanic is bullshit. Just a darkened screen and letters "Ink Demon is coming. Hide". It would be fine if Ink Demon was PHYSICALLY THERE. In Batim, Ink Demon was physically looking for you. In Batdr, he is not there. If you don't hide, you get a jumpscare. No matter what. The graphics and models are better. There are also collectibles. Notes, which you can read, Tape Logs which you can read or listen to, and Memories. Memories are just there to be there. Just collectibles. Nothing interesting. There are also better scares, so It is a horror game, which Batim wasn't really. I still recommend this game as a Bendy fan. It's a good sequel, but not a perfect one.

Nice horror game, creative, good artwork, nice plot, cartoony, somewhat inspired from Bioshock. Worth it. 9/10

Joey Drew Studios has created a memorable nightmare world of maniacal ‘toons and the dark side of creativity. While its combat and mechanics don’t reach the same level as its setting and narrative, Bendy and the Dark Revival is a must-play for fans of the first game, and an effective introduction to a singular franchise for everyone else. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3267121492
