There really isn't much gameplay after 15 "days" or so. Selling to customer is useless. There is a good idea here, would like to see... more.

I finished Blacksmith Master (Developer: Untitled Studio, Publisher: Hooded Horse, Price: 9,99€ (Sale)) after 29.4 hours, including 100% Steam achievements, played on Normal difficulty. Overall, the game is very enjoyable. The core gameplay loop is well designed, engaging, and remains satisfying throughout the playtime. Progression, production chains, and expansion systems work smoothly together and provide a constant sense of advancement. That said, the game becomes too easy at times. After a certain point, meaningful pressure and decision-making largely disappear. What I personally missed were: - Dynamic pricing for goods - Changing or situational trade route demands - Alternative scenarios or modes, such as limited building space, special material requirements, or clearly defined constraints It is also disappointing that many unlockable cosmetic elements like wallpapers or floorings have no gameplay impact at all. These systems could have added depth if they affected efficiency, reputation, or worker performance. Overall, Blacksmith Master is a strong and fun experience, but one that does not fully realize its potential. With more dynamic systems and varied challenges, it could reach a much higher level of depth.

So, I just dumped ~70 hours of my life into Blacksmith Master and my first thought was: wow, my assistants work harder than I ever will. The game runs shockingly smooth — even when I had what looked like a small medieval riot of hundreds of dudes hauling ore around like caffeinated ants, not a single hiccup of lag. Big thumbs up for the optimization. Gameplay loop? Super satisfying. You start off tinkering with a couple smelters, then suddenly you’ve engineered a factory so efficient that OSHA would pass out if they saw it. Watching the system click into place is peak cozy-efficiency gaming. That said — once you hit “end game,” it’s basically: Step 1: Make gold. Step 2: Flex scholar points. Step 3: …uh, keep making gold? No mine expansions, no deeper forest to conquer, just infinite iron to feed your infinite smelters. At that point I felt like a dragon sitting on a shiny pile, except instead of treasure it was neatly stacked ingots. Still — those 70 hours? Absolute blast. Worth every minute. Verdict: Highly recommend. Just… devs, please feed me more content before I start smelting my real-life spoons out of boredom.

If you liked Tavern Master from the same developer, you'd like this game. The feel of the game is very similar, but they have different game mechanics of course. The game is addictive especially in the beginning. There are lots of things to do - which would be the fast growing phase of your business. Then later, you do more observation, trying to find bottlenecks of your supply chain and address that part. Overall, I'd recommend this game. There are lot of things to improve, there are small, quality of life kind of improvements. I'll just list here in case devs want some feedback: - I'd like to be able to assign specific items for blacksmiths to craft. You can only specify things like "metal items first", or "most complex first". However, more fine tuning would be nice, especially to achieve time-limited orders. - Leveling up all blacksmiths is sometimes too grind-y when you have many blacksmiths. They can auto-level up, but then, the game might allocate unnecessary skills to blacksmiths (design skills to crafters, or vise versa). - I couldn't find an overview of how many resources I have for each ingredient. I.e: you have iron ingots laying around many places, but you need to check them individually. Before agreeing an order, I'd like to see if I have enough resources. - Assistants can only carry a specific item (one type of ingot, or one type of resource from warehouse). Not sure if that makes sense. Maybe they can be grouped like iron related stuff (iron/steel ingot etc). - Staff management window is not easy to use when your business grows and you have many assistants, blacksmiths etc. Very big frame for a single worker. I'd like to be able to group my blacksmiths so I assign group tasks, rather than changing their priority individually. - There can be orders from kings or high level lords, a similar mechanic they had in Tavern Master. They kind of have a time-limit order that pays more but as I said it before, it is hard to do that when you cannot ask all your blacksmiths to work on that order.

Enjoyable casual fun similar to Tavern Master, with cute animations and surprisingly addictive gameplay. I haven’t experienced any crashes or game-breaking bugs so far, although the game still needs some balancing in terms of economy and QOL (for example, managing the trade routes is PITA, and the production chains require too many assistants). That said, the first thing that comes to mind when looking at the progression panel is, “Wait, is this about Blacksmith Master or Manufacture King?” Because your blacksmith goes way beyond his supposed field of expertise. Bows? Wooden wares?Pottery? Jewelry? That’s what fletchers, carpenters, potters and goldsmiths do, not blacksmiths. On the other hand, one would expect a blacksmith to make some steel armor. Nope. No such luck. Maybe it’s coming, the game is still in early access after all but as of today armor is not in the game. We have a suit of armor as a piece of decor, same as in Tavern Master, but no actual armor. Overall, it’s a nice, relaxing game that would hopefully continue to improve.
