Fun game with very unique, but fun, battle royale gameplay. I don't even like battle royales generally, but this game is pretty good. There's just no other game like it, where you can manage sails, load cannons, fix a ship, etc., all in a fun, short-ish (a match might take ~20 minutes), arcade-like, team-based, battle royale setting.

the game is pretty good but could really use some more content, i'd recommend getting it on discount nonetheless

Blazing Sails is exactly the kind of game where nobody cares if you can aim – as long as you can yell “reloading!” loud enough while your ship is slowly sinking. And that’s just the beginning. Visually? It’s colorful, wild, and instantly memorable. The characters look like cartoon figures on an energy drink binge, and every ship feels like it has its own personality. Some come with fire cannons, others look like floating jokes – but all of them know how to explode spectacularly. The sounds? Every shot, every yank of the wheel, even every “ouch” after getting hit by an arrow lands just right. The chaos of battle is alive and hilarious – and when someone on your team accidentally sets the ship on fire (which will happen), it all somehow fits perfectly. But the real heart of it – teamwork. No solo heroes here. One person’s patching holes, another’s fighting off boarders, someone’s sneaking onto the enemy ship. Everything happens at once, it’s fast, frantic, and full of improvised plans that end in either glorious victory… or a spectacular mess. And the humor – the game never takes itself too seriously, which is its biggest strength. You can run around as a pirate in a pink coat wielding an anchor instead of a sword, and still feel like a captain of chaos. You get to customize your ship, your pirate, and even if you lose, you’ll go down in style. The gameplay is quick, the matches are just the right length, and something is always happening. No waiting around, no overcomplicated tutorials – you just drop in, grab loot, and try to outlast the other maniacs. Bottom line? Blazing Sails is pure multiplayer fun – loud, chaotic, and endlessly entertaining. If you’ve got a group of friends and a craving for a game where things burn, explode, and make you laugh while doing it – then you’re on the right ship.

Great trailer, but the game is much more fun than the trailer makes it look. It's battle royale on a pirate ship with 4-5 teams of 4. You can occasionally run into people while looting an island, but most of the combat occurs at sea. Along with the obvious weapons and ammo, you'll find ship upgrades while looting islands. There are spots on every island that allow you to teleport to your ship. If you die, you'll re-spawn with your previous weapons as long as your ship is floating, but you'll drop your inventory. You need to sink their ship. It's fast-paced cannon blasting, hole repairing, water pumping, and the classic t-bone to board the enemy's ship and get close and personal. Pummel them with shovels, pull the cork, steal their wood and ammo, and make your getaway before they re-spawn. All this is done without voice or text chat. There are some preset commands, but mostly everybody just does whatever they can to win. There are some issues with matchmaking though. Sometimes I have to restart the game for it to find a match and sometimes you end up on a 2-3 person team which is a huge disadvantage. Other than that, the game runs smoothly.
