ok. so..... I KNOW the publicity this game got. I KNOW the community jumped all over the hate wagon (I was one of them). The development of this game was a crazy roller coaster and I always said they were crazy to assume AAAA status and the amount they charge at full price. All that being said.....this game is good. I bought it for pretty dang cheap because I refused to pay full price for it, but no that I've been nothing but a pirate for 4 or 5 days straight, I am here to tell you this game has so much to do. My quest log has never been empty, I haven't explored everything yet, I haven't scratched the surface on ships, I'm fighting insane flying dragons and stuff, the community has been nothing but helpful, and I keep finding new ways to play or things to explore. I always say 1 dollar for an hour of gameplay is what I want to spend on a title, and I'm well past what I paid. Kudos to Ubisoft for still creating content for this SOLID game that, let's be honest, I didn't see making it for a year because of all the negativity surrounding it.

my opinion the game is good but ...ubisoft's biggest mistake every time is over hype the players .....if they said from the beginning that this is a basic pirate game with only ship fights and some quests and they put it like 20-25 euros max ...people would accept it just buy this game from a third party key store or wait for a discount ...I bought it at the summer for 7 euros and I have to say I enjoy playing this also every time I play the lobby is full ...every lobby has max 16-17 players the only problem is that the pvp modes dont have so many people ...so maybe you have to wait util afternoon or times that many people playing ...but personally dont care so much about pvp

Game Review: Skull and Bones I’ve been thinking for a long time about writing a review for this game, and now I think it’s finally a good time to do so. So here’s a list of the positive and negative things I have to say about it. First of all, I love this game. I’ve played nearly 650 hours, most of that on Ubisoft Connect since it launched there first. Even though it gets a lot of hate, I still think it’s a good game with lots of potential—though admittedly it launched in a kind of early-access state. Negative: - Even with a ton of good updates, the game still kind of feels like early access. - When land combat finally releases later this year, it might put the game into the state it should have been released in. - World Tier 2 can be overwhelming. Enemies feel way too overpowered—even heavy tank builds barely stand a chance when playing solo. - Instead of nerfing normal overpowered enemies (some stronger than World Tier 1 bosses), they nerfed all long guns, weapons especially used on one popular ship, but ofc others aswell. While those ships were overused, staying at long range was one of the only ways to survive in WT2 for a longer period. Buffing other weapons might’ve been a better option to encourage variety. - Season 2 of Year 2 will bring a large ship, but If they already nerfed long guns because of one ship, I worry what might happen to culverins when the big boi with over 30 gun ports (I think?) arrives. - There are still bugs—some minor, some major. But to be fair, name a modern game that doesn’t have a few annoying ones. - The boarding mechanic is underwhelming. A quick-time event would be cooler than just a cutscene. - Some weapons are tied to seasonal events, which isn’t ideal, especially since they can be used in PvP arenas. Gray Area: - It’s great that they lowered the price, but it might still be too steep for new players who don’t use Ubisoft+, PS+, or Xbox Game Pass. - The game has a battle pass, but the free version includes all the seasonal essentials. Premium is purely cosmetic. - There are a lot of premium vanity items—but to be fair, some are earnable for silver or handed out during events, even parts of premium-exclusive sets. - Annoying NPC's that greet u when u dock your ship in one of the main docks Positive: - Tons of player and ship cosmetics you can get for free—and they look amazing (especially for tougher content). - You’ll always get back all the gold you spent on the premium pass if you complete it before the end of the season. - Ship pets! - A sticker book for all the completionists out there. - The game looks fantastic—well, unless you’re on the lowest settings. - Sailing feels great. - If you’re not obsessed with min-maxing or chasing the “meta,” there are lots of cool weapons to try. They might not be as powerful as long guns used to be, but they’re still fun to use. - Seasonal and other events. - The music in this game sounds great! - Shanties. Lots of them! - Big Ship ! ( More comming in later Seasons) - Land combat coming in autumn! - Ships look and feel amazing. - No forced PvP! - The devs are still doing their best to turn the tide on this game, despite all the hate directed at them and the game. Conclusion: Would I recommend Skull and Bones? If you love beautiful ships, blasting cannons, sailing, smal to giant combat events, and the ocean as much as I do—go for it! If you love free cosmetics (I mean, it’s an online game—fashion is the real endgame), the game has a lot to offer aswell. I think the game has a lot of potential, all tho its still kinda in a early access state. Way better than before, but still not quite there yet. Basically, this game is like Elite Dangerous but set in the Indian Ocean during the age of piracy – which is great, since I love Elite as well! Oh, and no walking on your ship (as of now...), and the land combat part still has to be patched in later... just like in Elite Dangerous! Let’s hope the devs can turn the tide. I really don’t want this game to end up like a certain cowboy-themed online game "cough"that kind of wasted its potential. Also, to be fair, the marketing dude kinda killed the vibe with his "AAAA" nonsense If you’re into PvP battles and boarding mechanics… maybe Sea of Thieves is a better pick. The ship boarding in SKull and Bones is still a bit weak. -Edit: There is currently a bug with the Premium Edition where you only receive the Deluxe Edition cosmetics, not the Premium ones. Even though it's on sale, I thought you should know. (i used an ai to check for typos, just so u know ;'D)

honestly for 8 bucks you can't go wrong here. Several gameplay loops that are relatively engaging. good progression path and rewards. I'd recommend getting this on sale.

I've always had my problems with this game since launch, and refused to get it for a lot of reasons. That I won't bother going into. But now that its on sale for $20 i decided to go ahead and give it a go, i personally find the game to be pretty fun at the moment for the starting stages of the game, the grind seems less intense compared to the trial that was provided during launch. My personal opinion is give it a try, sure ubisoft tends to suck lately. But, if you compare this game to other old sailing mmo's this one is pretty decent and new to that genre. Its definitely not sea of thieves though, or black flag.
