i loved the flow of the game, the movement feels REALLY nice and i like how each of the guns feel i honestly wouldn't change much about the game but i really wish there was an infinite game mode, more upgrades, and a melee option if not a melee weapon

This game's borderline on whether or not I'd recommend it, but I think it's ultimately worth it as long as you know what you're getting. It's extremely short, I beat the game in less than two hours of play, there's basically no challenge once you're used to the game. The gameplay is very one-note so it dries up quickly. At $5, there're other games you could spend that amount on and get much more content. What's here is fun, but there's limited replay value, I've probably finished it at least 8 times, and even then, I've only put four hours in and I'm struggling to find a reason to pick it up again. FPS Games I've paid $5 or less for and enjoyed longer than Blood Vial in no particular order: Murder Miners $2.99 Carnal $0.99 Rogue Shooter $4.99 Doom 64 $4.99 Wolfenstein 3D $4.99 Return to Castle Wolfenstein $4.99 Half Life Opposing Force $4.99 Blood and Bacon $0.99 Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi $2.99 Neon Shadow $4.99 Dead Effect $4.99

This is a very short, easy game. I beat it twice in the 38 minutes I've played so far. The core gameplay is really fun, movement and swimming around feels great and the guns offer different enough playstyles for multiple runs. That being said, the roguelike mechanics feel like they don't impact the gameplay much, aside from just making it easier. Honestly, I don't understand why this game is a roguelike in the first place. There isn't much increased challenge as you progress aside from enemies having one or two new tricks. Things can easily feel repetitive, especially after you start recognizing the same rooms in the same level. I think this game would benefit from a mode without the roguelike upgrades or randomized rooms. Some kind of unlockable upgrades aside from more guns, or more dramatic ability changes could really make the roguelike elements pop, and more structured levels with greater difficulty progression could make it more of a challenge. Bosses would be a welcome addition- I was surprised and disappointed when the game ended with little fanfare. The gameplay is pretty engaging despite my grievances. This game has a lot of potential and I hope it gets some updates in the future. It's a short and fun experience, and I'd recommend giving it a try. It's only five dollars, after all.

Fun game, but horrifically short and not very much replay value. Wish there was more movement options and over it just feels more like it should've been a campaign shooter first, with a roguelite mode. 6/10, kinda felt more like a tech demo, but a very fun one at that.
