It's a lot of good old-fashioned fun, Simcity Classic in Roman times. After over 25 years (we had CRTs!) the graphics are still good, and make it easy to distinguish various storage/supplies and buildings. But like others said, get the Augustus mod - it adds buildings and a Lot of QoL improvements like proper full-screen, zooming, roadblocks to keep the service suppliers from wandering off.

I've played many city builders over the years but this one still holds up as one of the better ones. I mean for the price it's actually high above your modern city builders. I love the accessibility too. I remember playing it as little as 8yo and not understanding English I still loved every minute of it.

Definitely amazing but the Augustus mod is insanely addicting... 10/10 original 100/10 Augustus version ( FREE OPEN SOURCE MOD - just need the base game installed before using it) Augustus makes this 98' game feel up-to-date in every aspect possible. Resolution, addons, coverage visibility.... the list goes on and on! Absolutely must have now that I have tried it. Feels like I wasted countless hours playing the original just trying out stuff lost as hell... Oh, the best part - this was made before games required internet at all times. Enjoy it any time, any place without problems from connectivity. Almost forgot how priceless that option is these days from companies LOL (Steam included since Augustus opens independently from it)

I've been playing this game since I was little. It's such a huge nostalgic button for me, but also a great game. Its just hard enough to make you think and pivot to overcome whatever obstacle you have going on (seems like people have issue with food lol). I love how some buildings evolve overtime when curtain criteria are met. We need more of this in other sim builders as well. Anyway, love the game. Will probably play this until I'm old and grey.
