People nowadays just talk about CoD1, or CoD2, or Finest Hour, or Big Red One, but they neglect UO, the 2004 CoD entry and the only expansion pack in the franchise's history - and the first (except for Finest Hour) to be made by a company that wasn't Infinity Ward. This is a really, really great campaign which, most notably, portrays the Battle of the Bulge particularly well. It doesn't feel like a 2004 game - great graphics, great scripting and the real feeling of being in a massive battle. It's a stark reminder of how unique CoD used to be before it became a stale corridor shooter. CoDUO is definitely worth your time today!

They all continue off of the base game content with some returning characters. There is also a multiplayer for United Offensive, but it probably doesnt have many players. ------------------------------- Thoughts: *Review is based soley on campaign. I played on regular. This expansion isn't bad, but isnt as good as the main game in my opinion. A lot of the levels feel much more annoyingly designed and feel like they overstay their welcome with defending parts that last too long. It is cool to see the continuation of the base game campaigns though even if it doesnt have nearly as many memorable moments. The american and brittish campaigns were mostly really fun even with the padding, but the soviet campaign felt kind of tacked on. ------------------------------- Mid PC Optimization: Ran great at 60+ fps on max settings, but the american missions had some brief dips when artillery exploded, tried downloaded COD:UO YAP but it didnt help with it sadly. ------------------------------- Time to Beat: ~6 hours ------------------------------- Price: ☐ Buy it full ☑ Wait for sale ☐ Don't buy it ☐ Free There arent many missions and a lot of the ones there are have a lot of padding, 20 bucks is way too much. This honestly shouldnt even be a seperate item and should just come with the base game. ------------------------------- Graphics: ☐ Amazing ☐ Good ☑ Average ☐ Bad ☐ Awful Visuals are on the same level as the base game for the most part, but some levels are particularly nice looking. ------------------------------- Gameplay: ☐ Very Fun ☑ Fun ☐ Meh ☐ Bad ☐ Awful Its pretty much the same as the base game, they just added sprint. ------------------------------- Music: ☐ Amazing ☑ Good ☐ Average ☐ Bad ☐ Terrible ☐ None Its just the base game music recycled, which is still great. ------------------------------- Bugs: ☐ None that ive seen ☑ Not impactful ☐ Negatively affects gameplay Just some small visual bugs. ------------------------------- Side-Notes: You need to edit the config for fullscreen. OR you can get the Call of Duty: United Offensive Yet Another Patch mod by the community.
This was my bread and butter as a 10 -11 yr old. at 12 I'd average a 13:1 kda. Bolt action rifles and powerful smgs baby, knowing how and when to camp, move, lay a trip wire, take out a tank with whatever those non-rpg bazooka types rockets were called or satchel charges.. No fps has come close since. Even Insurgency 1 & 2 fall short of this at it's peak around 2002-2007. This game taught me that mod integration make or break a developer. Way before steam and they still did it. If only they kept the same devs as this game, COD wouldn't be a cringe title. A kar and an Mp44 was good game. Wish everyone who played this wasn't speaking russian and that it actually functioned on modern pcs. Even the campaign sp was phenomenal.
