Booting this up unlocked a core memory of playing this nearly a quarter of a century ago as a kid. What can I say, the map design and gunplay still hold up, even when compared to some modern shooters. The gunplay feels tight, completely untainted by today's bloated microtransactions. While the graphics show their age, the crisp sound design, like the iconic whistle of an incoming airstrike or the satisfying chime of a health pack instantly teleported me back to my childhood PC setup. The UI is clean, performance is smooth. It proves that a truly great gameplay loop never dies.
