I first played Cemetery Mary on itch.io a year ago, and despite going into the steam release knowing everything that happens in the story this playthrough was just as enjoyable as the first. I can honestly say now that this is my favourite visual novel of all time, and arcadekitten is an incredible developer. This story is deceptively deep, setting up simple scenarios before slowly adding more and more detail before leading into genuinely surprising twists. The characters are memorable and endearing, within seconds of Mary being introduced I had already fallen in love with her kind nature and fascination with cemeteries. The three routes you can take focus on her friends Crowven (acts like a jerk but he cares so much about Mary), Reginald (just a nice man who definitely didn't do anything bad) and Twyla (look at those eyebrows!), with the good and bad endings for each creating a fun and unique playthrough. All of the characters, major and minor, stick in my head as soon as they are introduced, both with their personalities and their character designs. Speaking of which, this art is gorgeous! Both the sprites and the full scene art is so vibrant, colourful and expressive, while the small animations added an extra flare to the more dramatic moments of the story. Also it still amazes me that this is free, the quality of the art and writing combined with just how much content is here is absolutely incredible. Definitely buy the DLC to support Cemetery Mary and arcadekitten (and the artbook included is well worth the price anyway). I can't say enough nice things about Cemetery Mary, if you haven't played it yet then you definitely should do (I mean it's free, what have you got to lose?).

A fantastic visual novel :) Didn't end up playing it on itch.io, but playing it now, it's absolutely wonderful and I love it to bits >:))) The art is fantastic, music and character blips adds a nice touch without being too distracting, and all of the routes have really immersive endings that really throw you in for a loop. Getting all the endings (including the true one) is definitely worth the time if you decide to play. Thank you ArcadeKitten for all the time and effort you put into creating this game! :D <3
