One of the best J-RPGs of all time. I’d say this is the definitive way to play Chrono Trigger now. This Steam version includes the added content from the DS version, the PS1 cutscenes, QoL improvements, better translation, etc. This is the original game, no remake/remaster stuff going on, just a good port. Played through this version in entirety, it works nice, didn't have a single problem. All the growing pains from when it released are gone. It's become really stable and reliable. Can also confirm it works in widescreen (16:9), ultrawide (21:9), AND super-ultrawide (32:9). No weird stretching or whatnot, they updated the game to properly support wider displays. Also works great on the Steam Deck. Definitely worth picking up, especially if it's on sale.

Would I recommend Chrono Trigger to other players? Chrono Trigger should be mandatory gaming for everyone. They should make you play it in the fourth grade as part of general studies. It is one of the greatest games of all time.

For years a heard people say that Chrono Trigger is one of the best game ever made and i aways thought its was just the nostalgia talking, but now i've played the game and i can say my own opinion: THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER MADE!! Thank you for the art, Akira Toriyama.

can't recommend this game enough but this steam version is probably my least favorite. I prefer the DS and original SNES versions much better than this. Interface is janky and settings are not easy to toggle.
