Licensed games based on popular shows are always a gamble. While gamers have eaten good with beat em ups like TMNT : Shredder's revenge and Marvel Cosmic Invasion we also get our fair share of duds as well. Luckily, Cobra Kai can be added to the list of worthwhile brawlers! Let's get down to the fundamentals +Hits feel impactful + You can predict the best time to attack because enemies will flash to indicate when they're winding up about to strike or have put up their defenses. In the business we call that a "tell". + Akin to River City Ransom there is an upgrade system you can access via the dojos. + Each of the 8 characters share familiar traits with their fighting style's founding fathers whilst also possessing unique techniques all their own. + The artwork moving along the story is actually pretty awesome! To the point I almost wish it had been used as the base inspiration for the in game graphics. (Think The Karate Kid universe with a Streets Of Rage 4 or Mayhem Brawler coat of paint!) + Rush downs, throws, grapples, punches, kicks, sweeps, ground pound finishers, roll recoveries, and air juggles are all accounted for. +Tag team system reminiscent of some of the better KOF titles. + The graphic style isn't the best but certainly isn't the worst either. A bit "Borderlands-sheik" with my only complaint being everyone's faces might as well be frozen in place! + Two main campaigns to go thru. (Miyagi Do and Cobra Kai respectively. There's also a third act where Johnny and Daniel team up.) + A good variety of goons representing various cliques. (Hippies, emo kids, mall cops, soccer moms, roller skating graffiti artists, preps, etc.) + Interactive environmental hazards you can use to your advantage. + Serviceable boss fights +Hidden collectibles +Loving tribute to the equally high quality show. My only "con" is beyond some safe edgy swear words Cobrai Kai had to pull its' punches because most of the main characters are teenagers. I'm sure the devs had to reel in examples of extra gratuitous violence and cheesecake sexiness so the "moral authority police" would not crash out. In spite of that the moment to moment fighting slaps hard. Furthermore, the majority of the cast members portrayed in game do not resemble burning dumpster fires! (At this juncture I will thank God for even the smallest of miracles!) Overall I would say Cobra Kai is worth the admission price and on sale it is a no brainer. Strike hard, strike first, and no mercy! PS: We lived to see it, fellas! An actually "good" Karate Kid game to make up for that crap fest LJN atrocity 80's and 90's kids were forced to play on their Nintendo entertainment systems. We are so back! PPS: The follow up to this game seems to have had unforeseen technical difficulties. (To put it nicely!) It's so over! PPS: Hey, Karate Kid Street Rumble lookin rather decent. We're so back! (Again?!)

I bought this on a steep discount after watching the entire series with my young kids. It was surprising how much we enjoyed it! The presentation is fantastic. It features many of the voices from the actual cast. The humor from the enemy types are very good. It was deep enough to get satisfaction while being accessible enough for the kids to do co-op. It's just slightly buggy when playing on a steam deck. However, it played nicely even when 1080 docked.

Given the series, itself is really good. The game is on the same page so far. If there's anything negative to say, then the first fight took long. Like, longer then i expected. Almost 21 minutes. At least i had fun with it. Also, just i started game & Tory's voice in this game SUCKS but Miguel sounds okay. Other than that Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues is pretty good. Can't wait to complete it.

Great Game. I really like the artwork. The game is fun yet challenging you can play as all the main characters from the two dojos, Miyagi-Do (Characters: Daniel LaRusso, Samantha LaRusso, Robby Keene, Demetri) and Cobra Kai (Johnny Lawrence. Miguel Diaz, Hawk, Tory Nichols) The map in the game is quite big making the fun of the game last even longer. However when I bought the game I thought it would be more like a puzzle/fighting game kinda of like the Spider man Video Game (Insominiac) or Hogwarts Legacy (Portkey Games). But it could have said it was a street brawl game in the description I just might not have read that. It does however follow a Cobra Kai storyline based off the 2018-2025 Original Show. The game is very well made and is perfect for any Cobra Kai fan!

OMG what a badass game! This was the best money I have spent in a long time. I only spent $2 on this because it was on sale, but honestly if i had bought it at full price i would still be just as happy!! Talk about bringing back the nostalgia of the old school games, with some upgraded graphics, gameplay, and super simple special attacks function and you have found the side scrolling fighter you have been looking for. This feel like the side scrolling Ninja Turtles games meets old school Street Fighter. Anyone who enjoyed those games will enjoy this. It's simple to pick up, hard to put down. If it wasn't for the fact that i have to be up at 6am and it's almost midnight i would be all over this game for several more hours. I can't recommend this game enough. Pick it up on sale is if you have any doubts, it's the best $2 you will spend all year. I will definitely be picking up any more games in this series and the producer is now at the top of my list!
