i don't know if there will ever be more content, but since the last time i have played this game the improvements are really significant and noticeable. This game has improved so much. voice acting could get better but it does not take away from the gameplay. 8 out of 10. only because it obviously is not completed.

Developed and published by Monochrome, Inc., Contagion VR: Outbreak delivers a virtual reality survival horror experience that throws players into the heart of a devastating zombie epidemic. Built exclusively for VR, the game emphasizes physical interaction over conventional shooter mechanics, transforming even routine actions like reloading or swinging a weapon into moments that demand concentration. Rather than following a lone hero, the campaign unfolds through multiple survivors whose individual stories intersect throughout the outbreak. This structure gives players a broader view of the disaster while reinforcing the feeling that countless lives are being affected by the same catastrophic event. The ruined cityscapes, abandoned buildings, and oppressive atmosphere work together to create a setting where danger always feels close, making exploration as suspenseful as the combat itself. Combat is the game's greatest strength because it fully embraces the capabilities of virtual reality. Every firearm must be manually operated, requiring players to insert magazines, chamber rounds, and carefully line up their shots while enemies continue advancing. This hands-on approach makes every encounter far more engaging than a standard point-and-shoot experience. The weapon selection is generous, featuring handguns, assault rifles, shotguns, explosives, chainsaws, and a wide assortment of melee equipment that encourages players to adapt to changing situations. Resource management also plays an important role, as ammunition cannot always be taken for granted. The zombies themselves provide enough variety to keep battles interesting, with tougher infected, including armored opponents, forcing players to switch tactics instead of relying on the same strategy throughout the campaign. The combination of realistic weapon handling and relentless enemy pressure creates numerous tense moments that reward composure under stress. The campaign offers several lengthy missions that are divided into chapters, allowing the narrative to gradually build while introducing fresh environments and increasingly dangerous encounters. Although the story primarily exists to support the action, it succeeds in giving purpose to the player's journey and adds emotional weight by showing how different survivors struggle through the same crisis. Beyond the main campaign, the game expands its content with additional modes that encourage repeated play. Free Roam challenges players to survive against endless waves of infected while scavenging weapons and supplies, creating an open-ended survival experience that focuses on endurance. The Firing Range provides unrestricted access to the arsenal, allowing players to practice aiming, reloading, and experimenting with every available weapon without the pressure of enemy attacks. These extra modes significantly improve replayability and help players become more comfortable with the game's demanding VR mechanics. Visually, Contagion VR: Outbreak successfully captures the bleak mood expected from a zombie apocalypse. Environments are filled with abandoned structures, dark interiors, and disturbing details that reinforce the sense of societal collapse. The gore effects are appropriately graphic without becoming excessive, making each successful shot feel impactful while enhancing the overall horror presentation. Sound design is equally important, with convincing weapon effects, unsettling ambient audio, and the constant groans of nearby infected helping maintain tension even during quieter moments. Since the experience relies heavily on smooth virtual reality performance, players with stronger hardware will naturally enjoy the game at its best. Maintaining stable frame rates is essential for preserving immersion and ensuring the controls remain responsive during frantic encounters. Despite its many strengths, the game does have a few limitations. The storyline is functional rather than deeply memorable, serving mainly as a framework for the action instead of delivering major narrative surprises. Mission objectives occasionally repeat familiar patterns, which can make sections of the campaign feel somewhat predictable. Players who are new to VR may also need time to adjust to the manual interactions before they become comfortable with the controls. However, these issues rarely overshadow the satisfaction that comes from overcoming intense zombie encounters using skill, precision, and quick decision-making. The immersive mechanics consistently remain the focus, giving the game a distinctive identity within the growing library of virtual reality shooters. Contagion VR: Outbreak stands out as a rewarding survival horror experience for players seeking a more physical and immersive take on zombie combat. Its combination of engaging VR mechanics, satisfying weapon handling, varied enemy encounters, and multiple gameplay modes provides a solid amount of content for fans of the genre. While the campaign could have benefited from greater narrative depth and more diverse mission objectives, the overall experience succeeds because it understands what virtual reality does best: placing players directly inside the action. For those equipped with compatible VR hardware and looking for an intense fight against the undead, this title delivers an enjoyable blend of horror, action, and immersion. Rating: 6/10

This game offers a lot of playtime and fun survival horror action, several stories that are not short. The immersivity of the weapons handling is a little hard to get, and can have issues at times.. but if you can forgive some small bugs you will have a good time... I'm still finishing the second story and I have already played for about 10 hours...

I forgot about this game in my library and thought I’d revisit it. For this being 2018, it’s great! Sure games have more polish with controls nowadays. But the graphics are decent, especially the gun detail. Levels are good and it’s a campaign. This blows away games like Requisition. It’s more like Living Remain. Not quite to the level of Saints and Sinners, but it’s worth a play through!
