Funny Cute Silly Little Chaos Aggro Crab's latest coop game! Now you can also be forklift-certified in this fun, chaotic game solo or with friends. Retaining the studio's signature cute and humorous style, Crashout Crew is the perfect fit for you and your friends to strengthen the bond or sabotage it further! Things I Like About Crashout Crew: [*] "Working" As "Intended": The gameplay is simple. You drive in a forklift around the warehouse that looks suspiciously similar to a small race track, delivering products to the trucks on a timely basis. Use drifting to build up the nitro meter so you can boost the speed of the forklift to hasten the delivering process. Work together, spread the workload, drive responsibly, and you shall hit the quota in no time...just like Shrek once said, "Like that's ever gonna happen!" What will actually go down is that you and your friends are going to bump into each other, scatter the crates all over the place, and then curse each other with generational hatred. It doesn't help that bumping into things also accumulates stress. Once the stress meter is full, you lose control of your character and bump into things even harder, further fueling more discordance in what little of your cooperative spirit remains. It's funny. It's chaotic. It's a good test to see how much you and friends "actually" like each other. [*] Finding Out How Things Work On The Go: I love how the game doesn't really tell you how each product and safety violation "behaves." You have to experience them firsthand to get the idea, which often leads to more unpredictable chaos and anger spiraling out of control. There's nothing more nerve-wrecking than driving around with a stack of lit lamps, oil tanks, and rockets. Surely this will not cause any unexpected fire accidents when huge meteors rain down from above, right? [*] Cozy Beats: The soundtracks of Crashout Crew follow the same principle as those in Going Under, Another Crab's Treasure, and Peak do—an uplifting beat with catchy tunes. I believe the team has mastered this style of rhythm perfectly. It's a really nice experience listening to the relaxing music in the hub while your friends are arguing whether or not the teleporter is more important than a drink. [*] Tip-Tap: Probably the most accurate and braincell-killing feature in this game. You can swipe around Tip-Tap (the in-game equivalent of Tik-Tok) whenever you want. Now you can drive irresponsibly and consume various bewildering "entertainments" during work! What's even more hilarious is that you can also view your phone while crashing out. Since you are already the burden of the team, you might as well enjoy some cute cat videos in the meantime. Things I Dislike About Crashout Crew: [*] Some Minor Complaints: [*]Shop items tend to be rather situationally beneficial. Only a handful of them are actually worth buying all the time. This often results in you earning a surplus of money with nothing interesting to buy. [*]A randomized, endless mode would be lovely. [*]Solo is certainly doable. My friends and I play a lot of cheap co-op games for one night and never come back. We call em "30 minute bangers." We have some laughs, get a lil bored, and never come back. Some of us will even refund. We thought this would be one of those, but it is so much better and deserves so much more attention. It's a perfect mix of Overcooked and Plate Up, but you work in an Amazon Warehouse. There are defined levels unlocked via your rating in a previous level like Overcooked, but the levels themselves have five stages. In between the stages, you have upgrades/punishments more akin to Plate Up. Honestly, I would be more into Overcooked or Plate Up if either had this approach. In Overcooked, I tend to wish there was a reason to spend more time on a level. In Plate Up, I tend to wish for the satisfaction of a "level complete" screen instead of just trying to go further. Crashout Crew solves both.
Potential buyer be warned, this is a SMALL game. And it works best with relatively small ping, anything around 100-200 and above might cause some issues. With that out of the way - crashout crew is probably going to give you and up to 3 pals about 10~15 hours of game, depending on your success rate. For its price, I'd say that's money well spent. Plus playtime can be increased by hunting for higher grades and some achievements. For the amount of content that is there, it's all very polished. Music is a jam, visuals are clean and pleasant. The game difficulty felt on point for my 3 person team. I will say though, some of the mechanics of the game feel quite mismatched. Drifting can be fun, but is incredibly risky and turn radius feels awkward on most maps, so it's mostly used as a means to gain boost. But that didn't stop us from having a good time. TL DR: Have you ever wanted something like overcooked to play with pals for a dozen hours, but with less cooking and more forklift crashes? You'll probably enjoy this one then.
Aggro Crab delivers on that gooood, good friendslop. You can tell the love and polish they put into their games to make them fun -- all at a low, low price. Crashout Crew is more akin to something like Overcooked than Peak -- you try to work with (or around) your friends to meet you delivery quotas in sort of a "stage" format. Pick it up!
