April 2026
Now that I have an unhealthy amount of time in the game this early on, I think its a good time to leave a review on my experience so far. I just wanted to start with, the amount of updates and fixes since launch has been so good to see as a gamer. They seem to be actually listening to us with what we would like to see or want changed. Huge W for devs. This game reminded me a lot of how I felt as a gamer when Skyrim first came out, the amount of content, and size of the map was extremely overwhelming. BUT it was that feeling x100! The map is so beautiful, with so many unique places to explore, it feels alive. I lose hours just exploring and trying to clear the fog ( I was anti bell ringer for the first 100hrs so I could see where I had actually explored so far. ) The amount of enemies you encounter in uncleared areas is insane, especially with the game running so smooth on my PC with 50+ entities around me. As you journey around the map, you can see the 100s of types of animals around you, it really helps pull you in. You can find and examine every type of animal/bug/fish/rock or even enemy, it forces you to actually interact with everything available in the game. For reference there are 400 different creatures in the game. I wasn't a huge fan on the combat when I first started playing, but as you unlock more moves and learn to chain everything together, its now one of my favorite combat experiences in gaming. Again the amount of armor, weapons, jewelry available to you is overwhelming, I would recommend just using what you like and ignore the guides. They really did a good job with making the difference between a fully upgraded META weapon and a fully upgraded everyday weapon so minimal, that you can truly just use whatever you like, and customize it later on. I highly suggest upgrading the Greymane camp & do their missions as they become available since it unlocks more content for you. The camp is set up in stages, a fully upgraded camp really helps you out enormously. I never messed with the house near camp much, other than to use it as a personal treasure storage. This game is beautiful, challenging, and continues to blow my mind every time I decide to journey to a new area. I often find myself stopping at vantage points & taking screen shots. The story is great if you actually follow it, its a good plot that has you rooting for the Greymanes. Some of the side missions are a bit lack luster, but which game isn't like that, its a bit of a grind. We are talking about the fetch and grab quests. Complete each area as much as you can before moving on, there are some very important things hidden in side quests, not to mention the constant inventory expansion. As you progress the story, there is a steady flow of new content added, giving you tons of new ways to traverse the world or new ways to take down & fight your enemies. I will admit that I had to look up a guide for more than a few of the puzzles, but at least I attempted them on my own. Make sure to search everywhere as they are constantly hiding treasure chests in new hard to get to/hard to see areas. I really don't have anything bad to say about this game, anything that was a problem at launch had been patched within a few days. I could go on and on about how I enjoy everything about this game, I would highly recommend it to anyone who is even slightly interested. This game runs great for my PC (i7 4080), on max cinematic graphics (140fps+). I have now put 200+ hours into this game so far, and I still have about 50% of the map left to explore that I have not even touched. I tried to cover everything I could in the review, because I really want everyone to experience this game for themselves. Hope this helped! Good luck on your journey Greymanes!

I haven’t felt this way since Skyrim. I’m 12hrs into the game, at the time of this post, and I still have no desire to leave the starting town. There is so much content packed into the environment, the NPC interactions, and the mechanics of this gem of a game. This game is so dense I can tell I’ll be playing this for years to come and still be discovering new things about it. The visuals are stunning. I frequently stop to admire the scenery and details of the assets and character models. I have a mid-tier gaming PC, and the game runs great. 80-90fps on quality settings, which is fine for me. Some people have gripes with the controls; I’m not bothered by it. It’s different, but not impossible or unintuitive. Just got to take the time and learn it. Like everything else in this game, it encourages you to take your time and really learn. I’m having a blast with this game and cannot put it down. My wife misses me.
