In anticipation of Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis arriving on February 13, 2027, personally want to revisit the story and past journeys of Lara Croft. Previously just played Tomb Raider in the PS1 era, and try to finished the story trilogy available on Steam. In my opinion, "Rise" is the best of the trilogy. Gameplay wise, it took everything great about the 2013 Tomb Raider and massively improved upon it exploration areas are much larger, the crafting system is deeper, and the stealth mechanics are more dynamic. The tomb and puzzle designs to be far more challenging. The graphics were outstanding for a game of that era (2015), and it featured engaging sub-quests involving platforming and other fun challenges. However, regarding the narrative, the main story felt a bit cliché and predictable. For next year's remake, have big hopes that Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog will reignite the hype surrounding this franchise, which has so much potential 💯

Regardless of if you’ve played the first game or not, Rise of the Tomb Raider is a journey you should embark on. Few games offer thrills in such a well-crafted, honed package. Here is a sprawling, compelling game made with impressive confidence – masterfully paced and expanding on its predecessor without for a moment losing track of its appeal. It’s a game that has kept its integrity intact while navigating the weird waters of mass market appeal, and one that retains a real understanding of fundamentally enjoyable mechanics. There’s simply not a single moment when the game doesn’t feel like it’s not giving its all. Rise of the Tomb Raider truly makes you feel like Lara Croft: a bow-wielding, mountain scaling, bear-slaughtering, cave diving mad lady with more curiosity than can be healthy. And that feeling is just wonderful. Rise of The Tomb Raider is exceptionally easy to recommend.

The Best Lara Croft Has Ever Been First things first, thank God they finally introduced sprinting in this game. After playing Tomb Raider, it’s a small change that makes a surprisingly big difference. This sequel, which many consider the strongest entry in the reboot trilogy, builds directly on the foundation laid by the previous game. It delivers a familiar but refined experience that leans heavily into exploration, cinematic storytelling, and classic tomb-raiding adventure. The story takes place one year after the events of the previous game and once again puts you in the boots of Lara Croft as she searches for the legendary lost city of Kitezh . Most of the adventure unfolds in the frozen wilderness of Siberia, where snowy mountains, abandoned installations, and hidden tombs create a fitting backdrop for the journey. Gameplay will feel very familiar to fans of the first game. It blends third-person action with stealth combat, puzzle solving, exploration, and resource gathering. The core systems haven’t changed dramatically, but they’ve been polished enough that the experience rarely feels outdated. Exploring optional tombs and discovering hidden areas is easily one of the highlights. If you enjoy environmental puzzles and uncovering hidden treasures, the game delivers plenty of satisfying moments. Progression comes through crafting, gear upgrades, and a skill system divided into three categories: Brawler, Hunter, and Survivor. These allow you to shape Lara’s abilities around your playstyle without forcing you to stress too much about optimization, since the overall difficulty remains fairly approachable. Visually, the game has aged quite well. While many environments are dominated by snowy landscapes, the atmospheric lighting, weather effects, and environmental detail still hold up nicely today. Another great touch is the voice-acted collectibles and the language proficiency system, where translating monoliths and ancient documents reveals hidden secrets scattered across the map. The gameplay itself is fairly straightforward, and like many story-driven adventure games, it’s the narrative that keeps pushing you forward. The story maintains a steady sense of momentum, even if there are a few slower moments along the way. Overall, Rise of the Tomb Raider delivers exactly what fans want from a modern Tomb Raider experience. If you enjoyed the 2013 reboot or like cinematic action-adventure games similar to Uncharted, there’s a very good chance you’ll enjoy this one as well. It may not reinvent the formula, but it’s a polished, satisfying adventure that’s absolutely worth picking up, especially if you can grab it on sale. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3671412644 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3673225723 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3672890502
