If Cultic and Hotline Miami had a baby that was left on the porch of an abusive alcoholic and was raised to become a serial killer, that would be CRUEL 10/10

played the game for a bit, thought "wow this is great, but birds feel like they are just free damage" I exited the game to write this review, and saw that there was an update that nerfed birds. the devs read my mind.

Due to the California fires, my wifi was completely cut the day after i bought this. and thank goodness i bought this game when i did. i know my hours dont show because it wasnt tracked but i played at least a solid 5 hours straight trying to improve and conquer this amazing game. The music the feel the art style is all AMAZING. Thank you so much to James Dornan for this master piece. i hope everyone who reads this gives this game a shot!

A solid mashup of Post-Void/Mullet Mad Jack/Anger Foot & Blood/Dusk/Cultic aesthetics, OST fucks and I absolutely love it.

More than just the retro boomer shooters that have been flooding the market recently. Cruel is actually a time runner. You must run through ten floors of an apartment while escaping a fire. Enemies are cultists from Blood, Dusk and other retro shooters. After each floor, you will be given a chance to upgrade your stats to progress as well. All while enjoying quite a banger Hotline Miami inspired soundtrack. It's far faster paced than I thought it was going to be, so no time to enjoy the scenery. The details that you do get to enjoy are well done, and my favorite that far too few developers do - press R upon a reload to spin your weapon. Some might find for even $10 a little too short of content, but I do hope that there are updates and work progresses upon it. I would love to see a sandbox mode, achievements, more gore and some more features added in the future.
