Deathground is a cool game if you like sneaking around and trying not to get eaten by dinosaurs. The atmosphere is great, dark rooms, creepy sounds, and dinos that jump out when you least expect it. Playing with friends is especially fun, and there are lots of moments where you’ll all be yelling or laughing. But the game isn’t perfect. Sometimes the dinosaur AI acts weird, and a few parts feel a bit repetitive after a while. There can also be some performance issues depending on your setup. Overall, it’s a fun and tense experience with awesome dinos, but it still needs a bit more polish to be truly great.

So first id like to say no matter how much I've liked or disliked a game I have never made a review till now. For starters I do like the game a lot and I've recommend it many friends of mine, and to to anyone who is into the dinosaur/horror genre. That being said it is early access so it does have some issues/ bare bones elements. Again keep in mind the game is still good and I don't think some of the negativity it gets is deserved at all. There are other people that have explained the games issues better then I could without copying what they said word for word so instead I will talk about 3 things that Id like to see improved/implemented that I see almost no one discussing. Thing number 1: Im not sure how to improve this but I hope it can be. In games like Jurassic world aftermath when you are doing tasks and avoiding raptors you are able to do those tasks at a much more frequent rate than in Deathground. This is mostly(I believe) because in Jurassic world aftermath hiding spaces are much more frequent, and because there are more hiding spaces(like lockers) that when you get in the raptors cant get you. In addition the raptors DeAggro faster, leading to less waiting around to do nothing(which is boring). Nothing is more frustrating than trying to do a task, and then have to run all the way across the map to get into a saferoom or vent , to then just sit there while for what feels like minutes before the raptor finally leaves. Also im surprised there aren't speakers around that can activated by the hacking device to lure the raptors (without the minigame though or at least a sort version of the minigame) that would make me want to use the hacking device a lot more. More ways to interact with the raptors/manipulate them would increase the fun a lot. Plus it would create a more aggressive type of playstyle which would also be fun. Thing number 2: The replayability of the levels is nonexistent, honestly if the replayability was on the level of Phasmophobia/like it than the game would be for sure 50% better in my opinion. Plus it would keep people coming back to play which in turn keeps the hype going, win win. Thing number 3: I believe a money/item system like Phasmophobia or Lethal company would do wonders for Deathground. As you complete levels you get money which allows you to buy equipment or other things to help you in future games (and of course you could loose all your stuff if you die/don't escape with your teammates). It would then also give you a feeling of progression. Hopefully im making sense and this was helpful to everyone, im also hoping the Dev's see this and like my idea's, and if so they hopefully help the game realize its full potential, which it has lots of!

Essentially wants to be Alien Isolation with dinosaurs, which is a very cool concept. It's early access so its hard to tell yet if it'll achieve that goal. So far, it has its pros and its cons. The introduction level is nicely crafted, with some cool moments. The dinosaur designs for the limited species in the game so far are slick. Theres a toggle feathers option for both the Utahraptors and Compy's which is a nice touch. The T.rex and Allosaur arent really in the game yet, but the tease the intro level has with each of them is cinematic enough. Now for the not so good yet parts. Alien Isolation featured one of the most advanced and organic enemy Ai systems in gaming history. The Xenomorph felt like a living, unscripted ,breathing creature. Actively hunting you while learning your patterns and actions. Deathgrounds dinosaurs at present fall very short of that. The Utahraptors follow a scripted path around the areas you have to carry out your objectives. Repeating those same paths, unless disturbed. If you run and hide in a vent, they briefly hang around the area until they return to their scripted routes. While beautifully modeled, their current animations leave allot to be desired. They walk extremely stiffly and robotically, hardly feeling like a living creature. The Compy's are midly more interesting. They will hound you the second you try to hide or pass through vents and their animations are more lifelike. The game has a class system, which enables a team of friends to fill each role as they try to accomplish objectives on a selection of maps. The maps are nicely created, with clear aesthetic themes and variety. But the classes feel very much the same to play. The only real difference is loadout. There is a skeleton of a narrative behind the games setting and while its nothing very fresh in the dinosaur game genre, It does have potential. At this point I hope the devs stick to it and continue to improve their product. This can definitely be a rad dinosaur game if given the continued love and work it needs to flourish. Rooting for it.

Its bizarre, because the game looks like it initially has all the makings of a stellar survival horror, but when you finally dive in, it's still very bare bones. I appreciate the $15 price tag, because right now you've got about $15 worth of content. You can max out every bit of each map/mission within 3-5 hours. That being said, what is there is still VERY fun, VERY scary, and VERY enjoyable. There's a solid base for a really great game here, we just need more from it.

Only played through the tutorial and i was not only laughing but i was also scared, crying and pissing myself while having the time of my life. I already can tell how amazing the future of this game is going to be. It also gives me a really big vibes of how the AI works in Alien Isolation game, and i am SO here for it. Keep up the fantastic work! <3
