If you like minesweeper and roguelikes this is for you however just like in regular minesweeper it can be very unforgiving forcing you to guess frequently. I can recommend it but it can get very frustrating at times

my thoughts on this game are honestly super mixed. it's a rogue-like minesweeper game. which is a kinda interesting combination. but the game also hates you and sometimes you just have to guess or sometimes you have to receive a permanent debuff. that's cool too. it feels a little refreshing for a game to be designed to almost unfairly work against you sometimes. btw i know it might seem kinda rubbish that you play a puzzle game where you're forced to guess often but i think that is just kind of a unavoidable part of gamifying more with roguelike elements and that not having that would make the game overly straight-forward so instead you have to use the roguelike elements to instead avoid those invisible situations and whatnot. it's not perfect! but i like it a lot, conceptually. i think the progression feels kind of underwhelming. i think unlocking things in this game aren't as straightforward or even particularly necessary compared to other roguelikes. this does make me a little sad. i ultimately can't recommend this game with my whole chest because of it's mediocre progression system but i really do want to recognise the nature of the gameplay. game is also kinda buggy and mostly abandoned too. it won't ruin the experience but it's just something to keep in mind buy this game if you've had it good for too long

Proceed with caution. Do not buy in the week(s) preceding an important deadline or life event. This game is quarantined in its own folder in my library for just how addictive it is. I never particularly cared for Minesweeper and just saw it as that boring game that came pre-installed on every device ever. Demoncrawl takes everything interesting about minesweeper and dials it up to 1000 with roguelite magic. Pros: - Tons of different mechanics layered onto minesweeper - Is still minesweeper at its core - Tons of different things to unlock - (Mostly) amazing soundtrack Cons: - Insanely addictive - a few tracks are discordant and unnerving on purpose and i hate listening to them - can be frustrating to lose a lengthy run due to bad luck - sometimes the sheer amount of extra mechanics and the nuances of the interactions can be overwhelming
