Honestly, this is a great biome type desktop companion but it comes with a very troublesome gacha-like randomness on the unlocking mechanism, which can take a long time to unlock everything or get the plant(character) you wish to keep as a companion on the desktop. So if you're the patient type, this app is recommended, if not, you'll probably hate it.
So the cons first, since they might be a dealbreaker for most. The dev has basically abandoned the game. There are many QOL features kind of necessary for the end-game grind, and a few "basic" things that aren't easy to work out without the Discussion group, and the Discussion group is quite inactive because the dev is also inactive. This means if you run across a bug (and there are some still in the game), or wish for some end-game features to make the 'day after day after day for a single achievement' more bearable, you very likely won't get them. I am 136 hours in and about 50 of those hours are literally just getting Flower Coins (you get maybe 1-2 an hour in a screen covered in tiles and you'll need hundreds and hundreds to get the final achievement) and I still probably have another week of this to go. So, if you can afford to park a game that you *still have to look at* (making it not at all an idler) and *actively harvest from* (not an idler, doesn't feel very cozy either at this stage), then do so! The pros: This is a cute game that scales well in the first three quarters. It's got cute graphics (though it will block out your screen completely by the end, making it sort of the opposite of a desk companion and more just another game that you have to click into to get Flower Coins), a gacha style way of getting items on tiles, and just enough customisable features that at least for the first three quarters, you feel like you have some control over a game that specifically has little and is based a lot on gambling and chance metrics. The art is really pretty. From the decorations to the individual creatures you can hatch in your garden. It's not really an idler because it requires so much active play from you to actually harvest gold and Flower Coins, but there are some cool features such as One-Click Planting (once you unlock it), locking tiles, or sorting the gacha priority. There's also gold and rainbow cards for every tile version, though thankfully no achievements around this. The tier groupings are pretty, including themes like Christmas, Spooky, what seems like a Cosmic tier, and more. It's also a pretty cool concept for a fairly common type of game. While it's no longer a desktop garden by the end (it will fill your whole screen unless you want to spend two years playing it daily), it is for long enough that it's just cool to have it around while you're playing. I miss the early stages of the game enough that once I've gotten all the achievements, I can see myself resetting and starting again just to enjoy scaling through the different progressions. The soundtrack is really nice, and it includes different noise generators, so for those who like ambient sounds / gentle sounds like rain, this is fantastic for you!
Although I'm not that big on idlers, I really like this one! The art is super nice, especially the little animations. Didn't expect it to look so lively, but I'm pleasantly surprised. The plants and decorations are all so cute and unique! Built in white noise and music are especially great for me, not only is there something to do while you work, but you also don't have to manually look for white noise. Although not a major issue, I would change up the tutorial a little. I use two monitors, and it launched on the other one, so while trying to switch it back up it immediately skipped it. It's pretty easy to figure out what to do on your own, but it'd still be nice to have the option to see the tutorial haha. Also I would really love achievements for collecting both gold and rainbow variants of the plants, since that's what I'm focused on right now :) Overall, it's a really good game, especially for the price! Stunning visuals, and it's perfectly balanced between engaging, but not too distracting. It definitely helped me get through studying for finals, having something simple to mess around with on the side from time to time gave me the needed breather without pulling me out of focus
This is another cute idler game for folks who like those focused on gardening, similar in style to Garden Galaxy. The cube aesthetic is really cute, and a lot of the plant and decoration designs are adorable, though I could do with fewer Christian crosses on things. This is an idler that really expects you to have it for a long time, with very high end-game achievements to have and spend substantial amounts of gold (though it's a lot easier after the December 2025 update). The upper end of higher-tier plants also rarely spawn and have incredibly long cultivation times. It's honestly kind of frustrating because even when you own all the plots and have gold to burn, the RNG elements really suck. I love the doberman plot, but even with all my time played and unlocking everything, I've only seen it spawn like 2-3 times. I also think the limits on growth decorations are frustrating, especially given how high those end-game achievements are. You can't even get a 100% growth rate on either money or cultivation. Endless harvest decorations are kind of useless, given how much space they take up, their long timers, and the negligible amount of gold they offer. And I really don't understand the random card a day harvest decoration, which has some of the few typos in the game. I like the music a lot (at least the first and third tracks, not as big a fan of the second), and wish I could just have it to play outside the game. Overall, it's a nice enough idler that just demands patience more than others.
This is a simple delightful little desktop game, put some block/pots down and grow some plants that grow into little characters and animals, then harvest for profit, and grow some more. Its no more resource hungry than Google Chrome with a tab open, so its not detracting from other activities I'm doing. You can rearrange your plants, keep them out of the way, there's a one click button to hide your garden, (it still does its thing in the background with all boosts). I'm looking forward to playing this for a long time to come.
