Unpretentious little game with a simple system of growing one's character with RPG elements. The basic plot is simple and does not set any particular goals other than to propose a main quest and a few sporadic side quests. Special note to the music chosen, although a bit repetitive in the long run, a couple more tracks would not have hurt, on the contrary. Controls a bit to revise, it would have been nice also to give compatibility for controllers. Retro graphics appreciated, but perhaps about this my judgment is a bit biased, being a gamer since the very early 1990s. Basically a pastime, but I still give kudos to the developer for the work he has done. I bought it with a discount code, I don't feel like recommending it at full price.

It's quite nice to play games like Diabolic, because they are quite simple and bring positive emotions, which should be characteristic of great games. A pleasant soundtrack creates a special atmosphere. I advise everyone.

Diabolic - a game-trip with RPG elements. We play for a knight who needs to get to the castle by destroying huge crowds of various monsters. Our main task is to perform the main and secondary quests, for which we receive certain awards. Our hero has special skills, divided into four categories, such as: characteristics of the hero, magic, sword power, long-range attack. These abilities must be actively pumped, because the complexity of the enemies increases with each time and you have to use your skills constantly. In the game levels we can find chests with different loot and coins that are needed to pump skills. The game will be remembered for its gloomy pixel graphics and relaxing music.

Diabolic is an 8 bit, top-down game where you play as a knight who needs to cut, shoot, and fireball his way through hoards of skeletons and other monsters to get to and defeat the dragon. Think of it like a cross between Gauntlet and Diablo. Difficulty is moderate. Beat it in under 3 hours taking my time. Good Points: - The music is nice - The combat is easy to figure out and the keyboard buttons are conveniently in the lower corner of the screen as you play - The monsters, while there aren't many types, can easily mob you and are a blast to get through. - Leveling up is straightforward and if you mess up, there's an option to reset your stats and use the points differently. - There's a dragon. Bad Points: - The Music is limited. Very limited. Expect the same song through the whole game. - While the keys are easy to find, there's no way to remap them and this can be a serious pain for people with different types of keyboards that don't follow the qwerty design. - The achievements are either badly translated or written poorly. For example, "Blow Damage from the Sword to the End" does not mean play the entire game using only a sword, it means 'level the sword skill as high as it can go'. This can be deceiving to achievement hunters who get the wrong idea on what the achievement is meant for. - I still don't have any idea what those glowing green crosses do. Do they heal? Are they a restore point? Can they be used at all? In summary, Diabolic is a fun little romp through SkeletonLand (re)killing your way to saving the land from a despicable dragon. It's oldschool in play, and a lot like other games of its genre. But the battles are tight, areas are challenging, and if you have nothing to do it's a great way to kill some time for an afternoon.

A perfect litte time killer. It will only last you a few hours, but they charge very little for it and I'd say the price is more than worth the enjoyment, Pros: - The combat is very clean and decently intuituve - The difficulty curve is handled quite well. - The abilities are well thought out and are all mechanically distinct. Cons: - The three combat types (magic, ranged, melee) are a bit unballanced. Magic is quite OP, whereas Ranged is very underpowered. I stuck with magic for the entire game and only used melee when I needed to get health back, and ranged on bosses once to apply poison. - The game has a minor stability issue. After a certain amount of projectiles get fired in a single session, it starts to stutter. A quick reboot will fix the problem, and it takes quite a long time before this happens so it's not a big deal. - No gamepad support. A game like this would play better with a gamepad than KBM. If you do plan to play this game, take my advice: max out movement speed first. 9.5/10
