(No Spoilers) Summary: If you've ever wanted to romantically pursue a phone, then hot DARN, do I have just the game for you. ------------------------------- What is in the game: This is a "dating sim" with multiple routes in a nonlinear story. There are a LOT of endings and missable scenes and other extra content in the game, with a special ending for getting the other 4 main endings. There's a LOT of content in the game. ------------------------------- Thoughts: *I haven't yet played either of the DLCs. This is a really fun game; it's a "dating sim", but really it's more of just reading funny dialogue. Don't go in expecting a regular dating sim. I came to this game from DirectDoggo's Dayshift at Freddy's series, which I played long ago and really enjoyed; this basically has the exact same humour as those without the FNAF theme and with less actual gameplay since it is styled like a dating sim. I really don't think this game's humour is going to be for everyone, though; if you enjoyed the DSAF humour, you will enjoy this game's too. I will say some of the jokes did kind of not land or overstayed their welcome, and some scenes, especially in the 5th route, were waaaay too long and uninteresting to the point I was almost falling asleep. The characters in this game are mostly really not that deep but are intriguing and have good dialogue. The most interesting characters for me were Karen, Randy, the mayor, and the secret 5th route. If anything, I think the game's jokey nature makes it not able to really establish deep character moments because it just gives you whiplash when you go from nothing but jokes for 20 minutes to a serious conversation (riddled with your character still saying funny lines). I did thoroughly enjoy the story still, though, and the game's world was also intriguing. I also appreciate the immense amount of stuff packed into the game. The game will definitely not be your thing if you are looking for a game with a lot of gameplay, as it's virtually entirely cutscenes and dialogue. If you are on the fence, I'd just say play the demo and see if you like what is in it. ------------------------------- Mid PC Optimization: This should run fine on any device; it's 2D images. It might at most have issues with some specific devices since it's RPG Maker, but it's a newer RPG Maker, so it's not THAT likely that would happen. ------------------------------- Time to Beat: ~16 hours for the main ending. Which involves 5 minimum playthroughs of different routes. With hours of extra content that you can also do and 2 DLC packs. ------------------------------- Price: ☑ Buy it full ☐ Wait for sale ☐ Don't buy it ☐ Free It's an indie game made mostly by like 5 people. It also has a ton of content and is pretty good; I'd say it's fully worth the 8 dollars to support the team. ------------------------------- Graphics: ☐ Amazing ☑ Good ☐ Average ☐ Bad ☐ Awful The game has a unique style that I like; it works well for the dating sim theme, where the graphics are all comprised of photo edits of stock images, real-life pictures taken by the devs, and 3D model renders, with the colors messed with and filters applied to everything to make it more original. The backgrounds are all fun to look at, and the characters have unique designs. ------------------------------- Gameplay: ☐ Very Fun ☐ Fun ☐ Meh ☑ Bad ☐ Awful If you are looking for a rich gameplay experience, you are looking at the wrong game; this is just reading dialogue and watching cutscenes, so if you aren't here for the story, you are going to be very bored. ------------------------------- Music: ☐ Amazing ☐ Good ☑ Average ☐ Bad ☐ Terrible ☐ None ------------------------------- Bugs: ☐ None that ive seen ☑ Not impactful ☐ Negatively affects gameplay Sometimes if you leave windowed mode and return, the game won't zoom in again, and it will be a small box; this is easy to fix by saving and relaunching the game. Every time I launched the game, I got an error window from NW.js saying there was some sort of profile error; I could just close this without any issue, though. There were like 4 times where text went out of the text box, rendering it unreadable; it wasn't anything important, though. ------------------------------- Side-Notes: None.
been vouching for dialtown since like 2021 this is the only objecthead blorbo dating game you're gonna want to get. directdoggo literally rules this market. d*te ev*ryt*ing wishes it were dialtown. dialtown is everything and more, for way too cheap. buy dialtown. laugh and get invested. sell your soul to directdoggo.
the biggest thing missing from this game is a jerry route. like i don't really want to date the guy he could just adopt me and feed me whatever he feeds his sick dogs. i could try to help with work on the baasture and accidentally talk the sheep into unionizing, ultimately making more work for him to deal with. i could somehow stumble into fixing his marriage. but anyway really i can't complain because no other game has let me hang out with bigfoot, my only dream in this life (other than of course the newfound jerry related ones)
