Listen, I bought this on sale fully intending to refund if I didn't vibe with it. Booted it up once, looked at the clock, and I'd been playing for five hours straight. Art is super charming, music is lovely and chill, sound effects are satisfying, and the gameplay loop is very addictive. It's satisfying and challenging. No bugs encountered so far, either. The deck element significantly adds to the re-playability, too. If you like roguelike deck builders, Suika-style games, and genuine whimsy, it might be for you, too!
“This is just the Suika / Watermelon Game,” I said. “It’ll be one quick run,” I said. Dogpile then hit me with Balatro-style deckbuilding, roguelike decisions, and the most dangerously satisfying combo potential imaginable. Suddenly I’m five runs deep, whispering “okay but if I take THIS card…” The core is simple, but the addiction is real. Finding busted combos, watching synergies snowball, and absolutely ruining your own run with one greedy choice is half the fun. Every game feels like it’s this close to greatness, which of course means you must start another run. Easy to learn. Hard to stop. Do not play if you value sleep. 10/10, I will dogpile again.
